a plastic compartment box works great. You can find them at art art supply, sports shops for fishing, Amazon or Harbor Freight. Hope that helps.

Does it come with the gravel in it.

There was no gravel in ours but several random small and very small polished stones. The chart that came with the set even has those two categories listed - small polished stones and extra small polished stones. ... Because not all of the larger stones are polished, there was dust and small bits that chipped off in shipping. I removed those before the kids got to handle the contents.

Does it have amber in it?

No, this kit does not contain amber.
