**Q: Is it true that the CF tripod really is only .5lbs lighter? Why is it so much more expensive then?**
A: The carbon fiber offers better vibration absorption which comes into play with slow shutter speeds and long focal lengths. Other than that, it's just the weight reduction. If you walk, hike, bike and travel without a car, you'll appreciate every ounce that carbon fiber tripods save.

**Q: I'm having a wobble with the head...is there an easy fix to this?**
A: loosen the thumbscrew on the top of the mount, then rotate the head clockwise until tight. Then you can lockdown the head. should you need to rotate the head in a counter clockwise direction you have to loosen the thumbscrew slightly, other wise it becomes loose and the result will be head wobble. I hope this helps.

**Q: Will the center post invert for macro shots?**
A: Yes, it can be inverted. In addition, the tripod legs will go completely flat to the floor and allow the camera (depending on the lens used) to get within less than a foot from the floor. I just checked it out myself with this Manfrotto and my Canon 5D and it's a solid setup for macro photography. If you need a lens less than 10 inches or so from the surface, invert the head and you're good.

**Q: Can the head point the camera 90 degree facing up towards the sky?**

Overall, I love this new piece of gear. I only have two issues with this tripod, both with the head. 1. While it can point directly down, it cannot point directly up. While maybe I'm missing something simple, I think you'd have to turn the quick release plate around to do that. (see photo for how far it does go) 2. The highest levelling handle doesn't have much range with tension. It's stiff and takes a good crank to get it to be totally tight. Thoughts: - I love how fast this tripod sets up; the leg locks are excellent. - It's a nice upgrade from shorter travel tripods. I'm just over 5'10" and when it's fully extended, the camera sits just above my head. Handy for situations like heavy brush in forests, etc. - The rubber grip on one leg is solid and a nice upgrade from cheap foam ones.
