Q: Which bedding is recommended to buy for a masr 2-person tent? regular size? large size?

I have a hubba Hubba and a regular is the size of floor.

Q: How is this footprint different from the hubba hubba footprint?

Fits the MSR Hubba Hubba, MSR FreeLite 2, MSR Carbon Reflex 2, MSR Access 2, and MSR Thru Hiker Mesh House 2 tents or any similarly sized tent, vs ONLY the MSR Hubba Hubba.

Q: After zooming into the image and reading the reviews, this can or cannot be set up as a free standing tent using the footprint? There’s no grommets??

Hi Eric - I'm not quite sure of the question being asked. The MSR Universal 2-Person Footprint is designed to be used underneath a variety of MSR 2 person tents, such as the MSR Hubba Hubba NX to provide extra protection for the floor of the tent. It's not intended to be used as a tent on it's own, though I suppose it could be used that way in an emergency, using the cords attached to the corner loops to attach to stakes. The footprint can also be used in a "fast & light" setup with some MSR tents, where you use only the footprint , poles and tent fly to set up a lightweight shelter. Again, you would use the cords attached to the fabric loops at the corners for this set up, adjusting the length of the cords depending on the tent the footprint is used with. - The MSR Customer Service Team

Q: How durable is the waterproofing?

I haven't had a chance to find out yet as the fly covers more ground than the footprint. I can't see how it being waterproof, or not, will be an issue unless you are in a position where you have to set up on wet ground. A word of advice. Read the reviews, and the solution reviews, about how to go about modifying the tie out points so you can set the fly up in the rain and then put the tent up under it!
