very good read
I was totally in-merged in the book I liked the semi historical events. The love story and family connections were mixed together well. I totally would read a part 2 if there was one.

Great read,
All good - humor, suspense, historical facts, romance. TY. I'll read everything JS Anthony writes and pass them on to friends.

Nice, enjoyable read.
It was such a pleasure to read a book without swearing, excessive violence or descriptive sex. And I really loved the characters. It was also rather curious that the religion called "Brothers of Ezekiel" (or the Family) have very similar beliefs with the native indians (of a life in heaven before being sent to this earth.)

what a gifted author
I enjoyed this book like I haven’t enjoyed a book in a long time. The straight forward conversation, the mixing of societal realities at a time when there was much confusion. So sad to have this book end. Moving onto this author’s second book now.

Go your own way
Loved this book! Was sad when it ended. Wanted to keep reading and dreaming. Some of the characters really grew on me.

Precious
This is such a lovely book. It’s about the stubbornness, the world to make it in the world that’s not always welcoming.

Good story but...
I'm unfamiliar with this author. I gave only 3 stars for several reasons. To me, the "hook" was a bit misleading; I was expecting something else entirely. As the story unfolded, I wasn't able to predict its ending. That said, the story itself moved very slowly for me; I had to put the book down twice. I did finish it, but was only somewhat satisfied with the ending. For the most part, it's a stand-alone story. Characters of her next book were mentioned briefly, but this story was not exciting enough to make me want more. Based on this one experience, I'd be hard-pressed to read another.

Good read
This book was so interesting. It didn't follow the usual storyline of wagon trains but ventured onto a different and intriguing path. The characters were well defined and believable. I enjoyed this book very much

Captivating!
I loved all the different characters. They sprang out of the page, larger than life. It is an original story - sad, heartwarming and ultimately hopeful.
