Save my behind
I am trying to learn how to roller blade and ice skate along with my son and daughter. As a late 30s I don’t get up quite the same way as I did a decade ago. Took a nasty fall to my tailbone without the padding and it took a month to heal fully. After that fall I decided that I needed some extra padding in the event that I take a tumble. And this padding gives me the confidence again to take on the skating.I haven’t fallen while wearing it so I don’t know how good the cushion will be on a direct landing but it is giving me much more confidence knowing that if I take a tumble I should be able to get right back up and this is mentally helping me with my progression. As for my kids they started around the same time as I did but are light years ahead already in what they are able to do.

Given me confidence
I have taken too many falls on my ass in the past and just can’t handle it anymore…this gives me the confidence to ride and not worry

Too stiff
My son asked to purchase to protect his tailbone while playing soccer but unfortunately, we had to return them. They were very stiff and were rubbing his back. Not comfortable at all just trying them on, I can only imagine how uncomfortable they would be while moving and playing sports.

Saved my butt!
I used this when I went snowboarding for the first time and it saved my tailbone from pain! I would highly recommend for anybody new to snow sports to help protect your rear when falling.

M fit me
5’0” ~140 and a medium fit me well. Bought this solely cuz of the name. Did a few test falls and didn’t feel a thing. It’s thin enough to wear under pants. But, YSK, the reason it’s thin is because it’s made of hard padding not soft padding, and it only covers the bottom/tailbone area not all around.

Not accurate description.
Not comfortable. Paddling is very hard.

Hard plastic isn't comfortable, no room for male parts
Got these for snowboarding. I wore these for the couple hours drive to/from the mountains, because it's not convenient to have to change in the parking lot. They are not very comfortable to wear sitting down for a long time, feels like you're wearing a diaper. The hard plastic is also a strange choice for tailbone protection. I was worried that it was going to hurt more now compared to no protection or padded protection. While I didn't have any tailbone slams while wearing these, any time I rolled onto my ass (even testing on my carpet at home) the hard plastic was very uncomfortable. I can't see this being any better than actual padding, which I've worn in the past. The second reason why it's uncomfortable is because they are unisex, and they don't offer any extra room in the crotch region for men. I got a size medium, and I'm a 32"-33" waist -- medium is almost always good for me. But I don't think getting a large would have solved this problem as it's not a waist issue but rather just the fact there's no room for your bulge, like at all. They were getting squashed all day and I had to keep....adjusting. Going to switch back to a different pair that offers padded protection instead of hard, thick plastic, and the other kinds also have padding along the sides too because not every crash is directly on the center of the tailbone.
