This adapter, part number AD-RSJMMCX is a reverse polarity SMA (RP-SMA) jack or female to MMCX plug or male coaxial connector adapter. MMCX connectors provide a lock-snap connecting mechanism and allows 360 degree rotation in the mating connector. MMCX connectors are commonly found in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi radio printed circuit boards. AIR802® manufactures high precision and performance adapters and connectors. Adapter and connector selection is extremely important to insure proper operation and reliability. Poorly constructed adapters and/or connectors will cause higher VSWR and insertion loss resulting in electrical noise and intermittent issues. However the RP-SMA jack / female does have a pin protruding. We point this out in order to minimize confusion for those not familiar with the various connector types.
