3.5 stars; watertight but poor vestibule; tent pole broke
2022 UPDATE: We have had two leaky fly covers and now, on our fourth time using the tent, a tent pole split apart lengthwise. Overall very disappointed. Our previous (cheaper) tents lasted at least a decade and usually it was the zippers that finally gave way - and never the poles. I really wanted this brand to work out but it just hasn’t.2019:Excellent tent so far, in most aspects, though with a few design flaws.PROS:1. Most importantly, it withstood it’s first very heavy rain and moderate winds. This is always my most critical criteria, so I am very happy about this. Will see how it weathers over time.2. It is spacious. At least 10x12, as stated on the website.3. Easy to pitch, once you look it all over. Instructions are not great, and include a step for setting up a vent that does not exist.4. A ground sheet/footprint is not necessary, because the floor is well-made.5. Good height in centre if tent allows standing for most people around 6’ or shorter.6. Love that you can see the stars at night, if you leave the vestibule and solid door open.CONS:1. Most importantly, the vestibule is way too small, to the point that it is so small that you cannot be in it while the tent door is closed, without your back being tightly pressed into the fly, and being forced to crouch in a sideways position. Given that it is necessary to have the vestibule in rainy weather, this means wet fabric pressing against you, and rain from the fly getting inside the tent, while you get inside and try to get the fly zipped, while now standing inside the tent. If you want the fly closed at night, you will have to press up against a wet fly from condensation and dew. Since you have to zip the fly whole standing in the tent, with the door wide open, it also means letting a lot of bugs in. Thus, the vestibule is very, very frustrating, and probably worse than not having one at all (despite losing a place to keep boots out of the rain).2. The zippers for the screen and the full door are overlapping, and the screen is on the inside; you have to unzip the screen door to open/close the solid door (e.g. for ventilation). Again, this is an opportunity to let lots of bugs in. It can also get confusing since all the zipper pulls are orange.3. The gear pockets are attached only at the top, so they tend to hang out from the wall, causing them to be constantly bumped and stuff to get knocked around.4. The tent pegs are not great and slide out too easily. Invest is better pegs if you anticipate windy or rainy weather.5. Poor ventilation with rain fly; walls are wet from condensation in the morning.Overall, if I can get past the vestibule, I will be pleased with the purchase. Right now my main hang up is the vestibule, which is really bothering me. I am torn between 3&4 stars for this reason.

Love this tent!
This review is based soley on setting it up in my great room so it hasn't been field tested.I was looking for a tent around $150-200, had to be a 2 pole dome tent (ease of set up) be able to handle rain, be able to stand in, have a good amount of floor space. On initial set up the tent flew up. I have a target brand tent that takes forever to set up because of 4 poles. I take my 3 and 5 year olds camping during the summer and they're no help when it comes to setting up the tent. The rain fly went on easily too.The quality of the tent is evident from the get go. The materials feel thick and well made, especially the fly. This tent is basically the Cherokee with a bigger rain fly, so the Gould give you an idea of what it looks like. There are two doors, the footprint is 10x12 (the box said 10x10). I didn't get a chance to set up the rain fly in full, but it has two zippered vestibules that can be folded back during dry weather. I am 6' and can stand in it. Quality is good, solid zippers, taped seams, all looks really good. Best part is that the tent easily fit back in the bag.The only negative I have so far is the design of the doors, in that you have to unzip 2 times to get out. You unzip the inner door and the outer screen door.I chose this tent after looking at all different types, brands, styles, etc and reading all the reviews of the other NTK products. I will update my review after our first outing!Update 5/13: Set it up in the back yard. Still nice and easy, solid. Best part is its versatility, since you can have both vestibules fully open (both flaps folded), both closed, or some combination. One downside I noticed is the lack of side windows, which makes ventilation a little less efficient. Leaving both screens open helps, as would pointing the doors into to the wind.UPDATE: 9/3/17If I could give this tent 6 stars I would. Just back from a labor day weekend campout where the first night was very windy (Harvey remnants coming through Ohio. 20 mph wind with gusts to 30+, one heavy downpour and some more steady rain. Not only did the tent stay bone dry, the wind had little effect and the tent held strong getting hit broadside with the gusts. My brothers Coleman tent (with the Weathertec system) was caving in all night. As long as NTK keeps making tents, I will be a customer!
