Excellent Sherlock Holmes Series
This is an excellent series. Jonny Lee Miller is such a brilliant British actor and plays Holmes really well. Lucy Liu is also excellent as Dr Watson. A really good combination together. The plots are sometimes complex and the social interaction between the characters can be comical and sometimes tragic. I wish I had known about this series years ago. It is actually better than the BBC Sherlock and there are a lot more episodes. The DVD box set is well produced, even though the discs are a bit difficult to extract sometimes. It is well worth it as Amazon Prime stopped streaming the series just as I was half way through Season 1.

Worth every penny which is elementary my dear Watson
Have always loved Sherlock Holmes stories and films right from Basil Rathbone up till elementary all 7series in my view are excellent especially the casting and the way Jonny Lee Miller plays him as a in opinion slightly autistic but super intelligent individual is a touch of genius just like Holmes and Lucy Liu was another inspired casting. Now on to the series itself the episodes are cleverly crafted as you set off on a journey with Holmes &Watson from the very first episode some viewers might find it a little strange to get to grips with it at first but stick with it and you will be rewarded with great entertainment. Only moan if it is one is that series 7 disc 1 and series 7 disc 2 seem to have the same episode txt on each disc other than buy and you won’t be disappointed in the slightest 5 stars

Very impressive
I have watched this on TV probably twice each episode. I’d just began to watch them again when I got really fed up with the constant advert breaks. I then purchased the box set and have been revelling in the quirkiness that is Sherlock Holmes. All the characters are well played but in particular Jonny Lee Miller is note perfect in his portrayal of a person who finds it difficult to blend in. Lucy Liu’s female Watson is a joy and is able to stand up to Holmes’ eccentric behaviour rather well. I love that Watson is a ‘person’ rather than a ‘woman’ in that there are no histrionics about clothes and shoes and hair etc. There is one advantage to old age - the poor memory means I am enjoying these episodes as if they are being watched for the first time!

Great series, not so great plastic case that could be improved.
Really enjoying this series, but like others have said you need to be real gentle removing the DVDs from the box just in case you snap a DVD and I don't like the idea of laying one DVD directly on top of another either. So case packaging could be improved but as for the series itself, love it !

A great twist on an old story
I started watching this on Prime, really enjoyed the new spin on this and got through season 1. Then one episode into season 2 it suddenly went over to Paramount and they wanted (what was in my opinion) far too much money to watch either an episode or a season. Someone had definitely got greedy. So I bought this to secure all 7 seasons and to blow a raspberry at Paramount..... :) I shall now continue watching it for sensible money.

Well-designed DVD case and hours of fun
Having discovered this series relatively recently, I hesitated to buy the DVDs because of the negative reviews about the quality of the packaging. Admittedly, the first DVDs to arrive had a damaged case because they were badly packed. But they were instantly exchanged for a well-packaged set, and I have to say that if you just use a little care when removing and replacing DVDs, it's no problem and an efficient way of storing 39 DVDs on your shelves. I've just got to 2/3rds of the way through series 3, really enjoyed series 1 & 2, first episode of series 3 was a real let down after the cliffhanger at the end of series 2, but it has improved, and I am sure will continue to do so now from improving plotlines. Would have given it 5 stars if I hadn't started watching series 3 - who knows, if I'd waited until watching all of them, might've gone back up to 5. But I'm very glad I bought it.

Good product for the price but...
... it has one small problem. The packaging. There are two big plastic disc boxes. A couple of discs are on one another, so taking the last one is like defusing a bomb. You need to be very careful to not snap the disc in half or to damage the discs. I'll be moving the discs into a different box, where taking them out will be safe and the discs itself will be safe.Beside the bad packaging the content you get for the price is very good. A lot of behind the scenes material, very high quality of the episodes. I am a huge fan of many Sherlock Homes adaptations, this being one of my favorites. I recommend this beside its packaging flaws. You can't get better than that. (well Blu-ray would be a lot better but we can't get everything at once, right?)
