Amway A101, E84, E-85, E-9225 Compatible Fit Replacement Water Filter

This is the same filter we used the past year. Works great. Thankful we can still filter our drinking water.

I have the same kitchen Amway water filter canister since the mid 90's. Easier to buy online than find a distributor to pay twice the price.

Use these in my 20 year old Amway filter. Good replacement for less than half of the price the Amway OEM item was, which you can't get anymore anyways!

The filter fit just fine, but the supplied washer was too small. I could push it onto the threads, but since the hole in the center was too small, it was up into the threads preventing a seal. I used the washer from my Amway filter and it worked just fine.I do not have the equipment to test the water to know if it is filtering out all of the harmful contaminants, but it tastes great! No chlorine taste. The manufacturer makes no claims of what is removed, it just states that it uses material that removes contaminants. If you have concerns about the safety of your water, there is no assurance that this will remove harmful VOCs.

Very happy to find a suitable replacement since it is no longer available through Amway/Quixtar. Be sure to get a new o-ring and the Dow 111 silicone sealant lubricant as recommended. It is safe for drinking filters, and when I assembled mine without the Dow 111, IT LEAKED!! So I had to order the Dow 111, because I could not find it locally anywhere, big box or plumbing supply stores, and 3 days later when it arrived, I applied it, and reassembled it and it was fine.

This filter has the correct, coarse threads to fit as a replacement for the Amway E-85 water filter. I have bought several from other sellers in the past, and the threads would be finer, meaning I either had to cross-thread the filter or go through the hassle of a return and take a chance on another one. It also comes with a replacement gasket, which I haven't received with a filter in some time (so it was much needed). I will be buying extras.

This installs just as easily as original Amway filter but is noticeably smaller (see pics). It comes with a rubber washer which is thinner than it's Amway counterpart but adequate to use. The water immediately came out clear with no carbon sediment, cloudiness-then-clear like the Original Amway filter did. So I question the filter capabilities (especially the carbon filtering) as compared to the original Amway filter but regardless the water tastes fine and is crystal clear. I would buy again but I'm thinking I should probably change it more often than I did for the Amway one.
