Bought it again!
I just bought a 2nd one for my other home. It is just the right size, easy to install and so much better than a wood knife block.

Perfect , out of the way storage for knives
Great way to keep knives at convenient place. I have it in our RV. Even in our travel, from place to place , everything stays put in place 👍

This Works...
This is my first experience with a magnetic knife holder, so I am totally unfamiliar with the competition or how a more expensive version of this differs. But I can tell you this: This one works.I use it to hold a 8 inch chefs knife, a 7 inch serrated utility knife (wide, heavy blade), an cheap "Ginsu" knife, a paring knife, and 5" scissors. They all stay put and are very stable when mounted -- in other words, they don't slide around or ever threaten to drop off.The bar is fairly short, just big enough for the collection I outlined, and I have to admit it seemed a little "cheap" when I was removing it from the box and installing it.Installation was dead simple with two screws for the frame rail, then the visible part, the "magnetic rail," slides over the top.If you're like me and unsure of what to expect, and don't want to blow a lot of money, this is a really good bet. I am curious what the more expensive blocks offer that this one doesn't, but for now, I don't feel the need to find out.

Works Well and Even Better With a Simple Tweak.
The holder works well. I added some Gorilla tape to increase friction and improve the hold. This also improved the appearance. Rubber tool handle coating might work even better. Easy to install but you'll need to get a couple of screws out of your shop.

Consider it in a Machine Shop or Sewing Center for accessible tools or scissors0
I saw this knife rack at my brother's house and thought that now was the time to get rid of my old counter variety knife rack. What a difference that little space makes! I have more counter space and the look of the old knife holder was no longer attractive. This works well even for heavy knives and as many as 5-6 knives total. I could even attach scissors or a screwdriver if I wanted. I am happy that my knives are still accessible but off my counter. Constantly detaching and re-attaching knives has had no impact on the overall look of the rack. I would even like one that is 2-3 inches longer since we have many knives in the kitchen. The hardest part of using this rack is finding just the right place for it in your kitchen. My brother had it on the side of his refrigerator while I have it closer to my chopping block/center of kitchen. I had to find a new place for all the steak knives but the important knives for food preparation are easily found on this magnetic rack.I'm always looking for ways to conserve space in my kitchen and this does that nicely. Having received this at a discount in exchange for an honest review, this serves me well and I am grateful to have purchased it.

It is short, it claps your fingers and it gets rusted
Got it for a little while and install it. It is quite short just like other mentioned. In installation, the surface claps my fingers attached to the magnet. But mostly, it got rusted and that was not good for me. Hate to leave a 3-star review however just want to give you a head up.
