Does this product meet DOT Specifications, AASHTO M 247?

I’m not for sure if it meets the DOT specifications or not. If contact the company directly they could tell you whether it does or not. I used it to paint a stripe at my storage facility so I could use the reflectiveness at night and marker lights to show that straight up.

Plan to paint a boulder on our property line - will these beads stick up the rough surface which is sloping, more vertical than horizontal?

Two ways Paint the Boulder and while paint is still wet toss beads on the paint and collect at bottom. (Plastic? ) Or use our Lightning Brand Acrylic Paint which is made to paint on vertical surfaces. Also, if using beads would recommend High Index Type 3 micro-beads. (High Index beads are 5 times brighter than Type 1)

Can this be mixed into clear paints and sprayed with an hvlp sprayer? i'd like to add it to a project car i'm working on.

To qualify myself, I have a limited knowledge about sprayers, but even so I would emphatically say no. The size of the glass "powder" beads is fairly random over a range of small sizes, but the largest would immediately clog a standard paint sprayer. If I'm not being ignorant here, I am pretty sure that even in reflective road paint applications, the glass beads are applied on top of highway paint, not in the paint. For your application you're better off inquiring at a professional auto paint supply store; but in this case with the risk of being laughed out the door.

How can this product be applied to a vertical painted surface?

With the area you want to apply the powder to wet paint with a small compressor.
