Folkmanis Sitting Dog Hand Puppet

I really love this dog puppet. It is so cute! It is larger than what we expected. I’ve included a picture of it sitting against my bathroom cabinet just so you can get an idea. This bathroom is a standard 48 inch vanity. Therefore a very small child like 3 to 4 years old might find the puppet too big to handle. It is very lifelike with the fur feeling more like real fur and not so much like just a plush stuffed animal. I think that’s a really nice detail. The inside of the puppet is little rough and your hand goes into the back with the puppet sitting. Next your hands go into the mouth so that the mouth opens and shuts. The best way to use the puppet is to pretend that it’s sitting on something like your knee or a table.

This is a great plush puppet and the kids enjoy it a lot and one sleeps with it still.

This guy is fantastic! Very soft and very life like. The hand opening is very comfortable. I wear a men’s Large/Xlarge glove and have no problem articulating his mouth. The lower jaw has a the flexibility for him to do just about any expression.

I was so excited to find this online! I had this as a kid, probably 30 years ago or more! I used it for a preschool story hour. It's very realistic-looking and easy to use. The way the pup's paws sit, it makes it easy for him to be perched as though he's looking over the top of something like a puppet stand or a table that you may be using to hide your hand. The students fell in love with this pup so much that one was in tears when I told her I wasn't sure where I got it at this point. I explained that my mommy bought it for me when I was a little girl and it was probably from a place called a toy store. She literally cried, so I had to reassure her we could still look for one. I was shocked when I found the exact dog. She will be thrilled when she opens it for her birthday next month. I think because it is realistic-looking and not cartoony, kids ranging from preschool all the way through upper elementary would still get a kick out of this puppet.
