Q: hand sizing chart gloves?

True too size.... I'm medium built average size hands medium was a good fit...... But they don't do the job can't hold and cardboard box

Q: Are they good on metal

They are a relatively thin material but I use mine around metal all the time, I enjoy being able to feel what I am doing, a problem with thicker gloves. The material is very durable, but I would be concerned about sharp edges possibly cutting through if you are not careful, they are not cut resistant. I have used mine for grinding metal knife blades and an assortment of other materials and have yet to have any problems, wear and tear have been minimal even after using them for hours on end. If you are worried about them falling apart from handling metal I would say that the odds are unlikely unless you use them a LOT on very abrasive or sharp edged materials, they are cheap enough to replace if they get worn however, so there is that to consider.
