I live in a townhouse condominium. The water supply runs in a loop. I can't shut off my water directly at its source, I have to call the super and shutoff everybody in the loop. My shutoffs were the type which relied on a washer which always wear out. This is a shutoff which, when turned, directly blocks the flow of water by means of a metal barrier rather than a rubber washer. Washers are a temporary solution while this is a permanent solution. No more calling the super just to fix a dripping faucet.

This was an add-on valve (comp hookup).The F end connected to the M end of the existing valve in place of the supply line. The supply line then was connected to the output M end of the add-on valve. Follow the comp instructions carefully. The valve to valve connection relies on 2 clean un-damaged metal surfaces. There should be no tape or dope on these serfaces (see 1 at top of image above)

After seeing bad reviews on similar products, I was worried about leaks or completely shutting off but I was pleasantly surprised. I needed to add this to a water line in order for a home improvement company to install a new dishwasher.

Nice part for use. The 1/4 turn handle is short. A little bit hard to make the turn. But I think it's a standard design.

I purchased this valve off the Amazon website, I got one from Lowe’s but it was cheaply made & leaked. The one from Amazon was made a lot better with a solid valve that has a one inch hex nut on the end that screws on the copper water pipe. Made the install a lot easier & no leaks very easy water shut off handle. I purchase 3 of these so far, going to replace a few more! Thanks Amazon...

Love these quarter turn shut off valves compared to the older style with a rubber washer. These cut off the water 100%, don't wear out nearly as fast and never really need any maintenance. When you need them, they work. Would have installed these on every fixture in the house had they been available at the time the plumbing was done.

I wanted to post a picture of what you get to remove any confusion based on previous reviews. I’m assuming the seller must have updated the picture because what you see is what you get as of today (10/26/18). I also wanted to thank one of the previous reviewers for giving a good description since I knew it was what I wanted when I read it. I will update this review if it has any issues leaking but installation was a snap.

Although the size says 1/2 x 3/8 that is not the case. I had to run to hardware store to get a different replacement valve. They both say the same size on the package but they are not the same size. So even if the quality is good, as it appears to be, this valve is of no use to me.
