Review: Exactly what I was looking for! - I'm honestly not sure why thus has such bad ratings. It's exactly what I needed. My car is 1 model year before Apple Car play was added by my manufacturer, and a few years before Android auto (don't know exactly when Android Auto became a thing)... My GF has an iPhone, and I have a Samsung Galaxy... Her car is 3 years newer and has both already... But my car will only play music off of an iPhone almost like connecting a hard drive or something. I saw this and had to have it. I haven't mounted it yet, so no pics, but I hooked it up to test it, and it's amazing! I can connect my galaxy using Bluetooth, but the sound isn't great... This connects with Bluetooth as well... Ehhh... It can also connect through the FM transmitter which doesn't sound great either... What's a person (that wants quality audio) to do? Connect it to your stereo using the provided aux cord. Sounds pretty dam* good... I don't like the GPS that came with my car, and shows on my original screen, so this allows me to use Google maps on my newer secondary screen that will be mounted just above... Honestly, the only drawbacks I can think of is that since it's connected using the aux cord, I can't control the music with my steering wheel controls (but a quick tap of the screen works, or saying "Hey Google, Next song")... And the other is finding the best way to route the cables so they aren't just dangling down my dash and center console... Which is why I haven't taken the time to mount it yet... But there are a couple of easy suggestions right in the manual on how best to do it (and it comes with some cable clips for just that purpose), so I'll mess with it more this weekend. All in all, it looks great, and it sounds great. If your car already has carplay, and Android auto built in to your system, this adds nothing. If your car is a couple years older, this is exactly what you're looking for.
Review: A great way to add Carplay/Android Auto to older cars - I am borrowing long-term a family member's older Hyundai Santa Fe without a screen, so I don't have the option to install a new head unit. I chose the Intellidash unit because it seems like a genuine brand sold at multiple retailers unlike many of the other options available on desertcart. I am quite pleased with the purchase. It offers a much better user experience than using my Pixel 7 in driving mode. Also, I was pleasantly surprised that the device fast charges my Pixel 7 unlike my genuine Android Auto head unit on my Hyundai Elantra. While I primarily use the Intellidash with an Android phone, my son connected his iPhone 13 to see how it works with iPhone. We discovered the Intellidash was as seamless with Apple as it was with Android. So while my experience is mostly with Android, you can expect about the same from an iPhone. Pros: - Easy to use - Bright, vibrant screen - Charges phone when connected - Latest version of Android Auto supported - Includes USB port to connect thrumbdrive to play music - Good sound quality over audio aux cable Cons: - Too many cables - Built-in speaker quality is poor - Microphone doesn't work well when AC is high - No Bluetooth to stereo option - No physical on/off switch The unit relies on either an FM transmitter or an audio aux cable to connect to the car stereo. I use the audio cable because I just assume it is more reliable with better sound. As a result, I have 3 cables: 2 to the car, and 1 to my phone. I experimented with my AAWireless dongle from my Elantra, but it only worked half the time. The problem may have more to do with USB cables than the Intellidash unit as the AAWireless unit is quite finicky about USB cables. Its original cable is USB A to C, whereas the Intellidash requires a USB C to C as its USB A input is only for thumbdrives. If you want or require a wireless connection, it is best to buy the more expensive unit that includes wireless. I purchased mine from the desertcart Warehouse. Although described as having a scratch on the backside, it arrived practically brand new with all accessories still in original packaging and I saved over $80 at the time of purchase. If you require Android Auto or Apple Carplay in an older vehicle and either can't or don't want to change the head unit, then the Intellidash is a perfect solution especially if you can get it for $99.

**Q: Can the audio from Intellidash be connected to car Bluetooth so steering wheel controls for volume and track control work?**
A: Sort of is the best answer I've found.  I tried connecting via Bluetooth from my phone to both the CarPlay unit and my cars radio.  Audio starts playing on the CarPlay unit via the speaker and then, I have to manually push "play" on my car radio.  Once I do that, I can use Bluetooth to control the music.  Every time I time I use the CarPlay unit to modify the music via Siri or the unit itself it will switch back to the speaker.  If I just want to change volume or advance a song via the steering wheel controls seems to work fine.

Its not a perfect solution.  I recently bought an Aux cable because I found it clumsy.

**Q: Will it pair to existing Bluetooth in my car?**
A: The Product has  built in speaker or you can connect it to your cars speakers by either AUX cable or thru the built in FM Transmitter.

**Q: Is there an option in the settings to rotate the screen so that I can have the all the ports coming out of the right instead of the left?**
A: No. I rechecked the settings and there’s no way to rotate the screen. Ports are on the left side, always.

**Q: Does anyone have a current link for the most current firmware version for the Bluetooth model? My just bought unit has hp207_v2.30. Thanks!**
A: Hi, there is not current update for the firmware. Check the Car and Driver website in the future to update your device.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Deal For the Price

All other methods of adding Airplay involve replacing the existing in dash unit which is more expensive and more complicated. This unit is simple and does the trick for me so I am a happy camper. Even better, I can move it to other vehicles such as the u-haul I plan to rent later this month and drive cross country. The cords are annoying and the mount is a little crude but it works and works well and that is what is most important to me. The screen is responsive to touch. In fact, it is more responsive that I expected at that price point. My buying advice would be to keep your expectations low. At the low price you are paying, the minor hassle of cords and mounts are well worth the addition of Airplay to your vehicle. If you want a cord free experience and no mount, spend more dough and get an in dash model for at least double the price.
