Schaum's Outline of Italian Grammar, 4th Edition (Schaum's Outlines)

This book is perhaps the best adjunct to any course study of the Italian language. I am using "Living Italian", but as I proceeded beyond the essential, I found it be be lacking in grammar explanation and examples. I am now using this book to provide a more coherent and complete explanation for the particular grammar topic I am studying. There are also many good examples and exercises in this book, so one can practice a particular topic to whatever depth to better retain the lesson.

This is a great book for those who need to review their Italian. It provides exercises in order to solidify the knowledge that you have just reviewed. I do not believe that the book, alone, will give you the information that you wish. You have to practice the language, read the language, and do other activities in Italian. Of course, you must have the basics in grammar to speak properly. This is a great supplement to your language studies!

All Schaum's outline series books are EXCELLENT. In terms of a foreign language, it helps to know a little before you use the books. But even after only one semester of the language the books are awesome!

My wife and I have been taking Italian from a private instructor for several years. He recommended this book as a good simple review and exercise book since it has answers in the back. It's probably at a more "elementary" level than we are at this time, but it is always good to go back and review. It would be good for someone starting out as well.

Contentwise it's a good book, and it has a helpful method for marking stressed syllables, but I am giving it only 3 stars because it has too many typos (especially for a 4th edition), and because most of the text is patched, so it cannot be colored, copied or web-searched.

This is a book I deliberately chose as a gift to my friend.According to my own experience of learning Italian, this bookoffers the clearest, the most concise and useful Italian grammar.It also pinpoints the stressed syllables which is very helpful to theforeigners when learning to speak Italian. The exercises are easyto follow and they are practical to daily life. I just love it!

Best supplement to a course in Italian I have found. I'm using it to learn the rudiments of Italian grammar, and as far as I can tell, this outline is comprehensive and detailed enough to support a far more advanced study than mine.

Love this book, so many exercises and very thorough. Easy to understand and self teach. Highly recommended!
