Tag on it says 100% silk. It is very breathable. Great product.

Q: Is it worn under a wig snuggly?

Yes, it is comfortable underneath the wig. It is also light in weight. I recommend it.

Q: Can it stay on for a whole night of sleep?

I have never used it to sleep in but I don't think it would. There is only a small piece of elastic in the back. I use it under my hats and turbans and it does a great job of protecting my hair. It is not compressing at all like a regular wig cap so nothing really to keep it from sliding off...especially if you sleep like a fish out of water like me :).
