The Birmingham Roller: A Performance Pigeon Paperback – April 27, 2014

Lots if good info about the Birmingham Roller Pigeon in this book..I Highly Recommend This It..well written and easily understood..

After having rollers as a boy and now being the new guy to the hobby once again, I gained a lot of information from Dave's book. He gives a lot of good tips from the basics of building your kit box and loft(s), obtaining birds of good quality and how to approach a fancier on the matter, to breeding birds and even eye sign. I found his chapter on night flying very interesting. And in today's day and age I really found the internet links to be very helpful as well. I will put a lot of the information in this book to good use and reference back to it through out my experience with these beautiful birds. I recommend getting this book if you are a beginner such as myself, or even a veteran. I am sure you will find some useful tips to add to your arsenal. It is new age with up to date information coming from a man with many years of experience in the hobby of BR.

I had Dave's bloodline of pigeons and this book gives me a chance to get into the mind of a master who created this wonderful family of Rollers.When I asked Dave to help me write about a mutual friend of ours, I didn't know he had this book in mind. This is one of the better books on the Birmingham Roller Pigeon out there. The book is written in a way thatalmost anyone can understand. There are chapters that involve how to get started, building a loft, acquiring birds, etc.Most or all of this information from the book can be found on the internet. It's a good book for beginners or the advanced Roller flyer.One negative about the book is that there are many mispelled words. Not sure why the book wasn't proofread before being to press.It seems like it was "rushed" out to press. Another thing you need to know. If you try contacting Dave, he may or may not respond backto you. It seems he is too busy to respond, or maybe his email address has changed, who knows? I asked him a simple question & Inever received a reply. Oh well. Like I said before, most of the information from the book can be found on the internet. I don't agree withall of Dave's methods, I have my own way of doing things. There are better books on Rollers out there. Just my opinion.

This is a great source that can be used by all in the bird game. I will continue to refer to this book in the future. I have friends that want to borrow it but this is now near and dear to me and I have told them to purchase their own. If you are into rollers this will be useful.
