Our older OXO scoop had an effective design but the coating flaked off over time. This one, being solid stainless, should not. It has a nice solid heft, good geometry, and cleans up perfectly in the dishwasher.

We bought this scoop because of our excellent experience with OXO utensils.The scoop is heavy and has a ergonomic covered handle and steel scooper.The only issue we found is that stubborn scooped ice cream sticks to the steel scooper.Our solution is to wet the steel with water before attacking the ice cream.Problem solved.
