I've had it for about 2 weeks now and it's been working great! We had a problem with birds in a specific area of our backyard/pool where they would gather and crap all of our pool/spa area. The amount of bird crap everywhere has dropped a considerable amount too. Not completely gone yet, but much much better. I gave it 5 starts because I don't know how much better they could have done with this product, but a few things to consider when buying it. You have the option to use batteries or electrical power. Obviously the long term electrical would be better to use. But depending on where you may need to place the unit, it may be a bit of a chore to get power there (again, not the sellers problem, its mine). You could of course use batteries and change them out when needed if its too much trouble to run the electrical. I ended up buying a small LCD TV mount and attaching the device to it, then mounting the TV mount to a pergola near the trouble area. Then I ran an electrical wire and put the unit on a outdoor wifi switch, so I could turn it on and off as need from my smart phone. Few reasons for that, 1 if you have dogs it will go off when the dogs or people walk by, which could be annoying. The wifi outlet I got allows me to turn it off at sunset and on at sunrise automatically, so it won't annoying the neighbors at night. 2, in my situation, its near my pool so obviously don't want it going off while we are using the pool, so thats why the wifi/electrical option was the best for me. You have to actually open the unit up to turn it off, there isn't a really accessible on/off switch. So if you need to turn it on and off often, I would go with the electrical power option. So just keep that in mind, but the unit works great and does what its supposed to do. Review: Ineffective in every way - Absolutely ineffective against birds. Highly effective against humans. After three months of use using a variety of settings and locations, this simply does not work. I really regret this purchase and sticking with it long enough to be past a product return timeline. If I was better at taking pictures, the picture of the birds happily sitting on top of the device with lights flashing and loud tones going off would be posted with this review. I would say a little bid more then half way up to the High end of this switch dogs and cats should not hear the sounds and the unit would be producing sound Very High in the ultrasonic sounds. My suggestion is to set the device half way up to the highest sound setting on the slider and simply do a test by turning the device on when with your pet close to you. Watch your dog or cats hears closely, If they twitch or move or your pets wants away from the device then you know they can hear the noise. So simply move the slider even high up into higher Ultrasonic sounds on the slider switch. Now from my own experience I use the TSAR620 to repel birds outside my house on the second floor of my home. I Have a miniature dashound and because she spends most of her time inside and occasionally goes outside she shows no signs of being disturb when the Device is on. **Q: Would this be effective to keep Egrets from a fish pond?** A: Sorry. I’m using it for pigeon droppings in the city. It’s been 5 days now and the bird poop is 75% better. But I can’t help you with egrets. **Q: I have turkey vultures that roost in the portico out front of my building. How effective is your product against this species?** A: Small birds on our fence, distance about 30-40 feet...works so-so. Don't know how it would work on a larger bird like a turkey vulture. We have been in our house for 14 years and have a covered patio on the back of the house. We have never had birds until this year. They were pooping everywhere, all over the couches and cushions. First I got some of the reflective tape and put it EVERYWHERE. No change...then we tried an owl, next a silhoutte of a bird and a wind chime. Still nothing...birds, every day, pooping everywhere. I decided to try this device. At first, no real impact. And when I was giving up hope and ready to buy a shotgun to shoot up the trees, I decided to relocate the device. Amazing! No more birds for over a month now! We went away on vacation and came home to clean cushions and patio! If you have trouble with this device at first, I recommend trying some different locations. We have a small dog and my wife sits on the covered patio every morning....she barely notices this at all.
