The length provided was not what I received even after I fully stretched it out.

It was tougher than I expected. I expect many years of use from this hose.

I have 3 different brands of "steel spring wire" 2-1/2" dust collection hoses. While the description says that this "PVC hose is reinforced by an interior "steel spring wire", this Powertec hose is different from the others brands I own. The Powertec "steel spring wire" has almost no spring.I discovered this when it arrived from Powertec. It had a serious kink in it, which I easily straightened out with my fingers. The wire is very malleable, easily bent into any shape, which is the exact opposite of a spring. This hose won't last long if you plan to subject it to movement (meaning it's portable for use on different machines and will rest on the floor). This is because if you step on it, you'll have a flat hose. I think it would be OK for situations where it doesn't move around. I have to return it. Considering that this is the most expensive 2-1/2" hose I have purchased, this is a real disappointment. I just went to my shop and stepped on an old Rockler hose, and it shot out from under my foot kind of like, well, a spring.
