Nice helmet for the price!
This helmet is better than i expected. I've never had a full face helmet so I don't know what to compare it to. I've read a few complaints on this helmet such as smell, the way it fits, scratches easy and didn't come with a box. That wasn't my experience at all. I measured my head like your supposed to and the helmet fit perfectly, no bad smell either. The color & finish are nice and it came in a box and helmet bag. I really like the quick release strap. I ride a mini motorcycle and it should be perfect for me.

It's a convertible!
Size L fits as expected, and except for a strong chemical odor, the helmet appears satisfactory and well made.Instead of a conventional double-D ring chin strap, this helmet has a ratcheting clip at the end (like a hemostat lock) which is inserted into a toothed, spring-loaded locking mechanism. So instead of adjusting the fit every time you wear the helmet, the fit remains constant. I presume that you could loosen it a bit by not inserting the clip fully, but this is probably not advised. To remove the strap, you pull down the the easy-to-locate tab under your left ear and the clip jaw opens. The entire front of the helmet swivels up to create an open-face helmet. Pushing down on the small tab in the middle of the chin piece unlocks the faceshield. On my helmet, when closing the faceshield only when it is not being worn, the left side locking mechanism in the helmet is a tiny bit too far in to properly engage the stud on the faceshield without some wiggling. Even in a crash situation, I doubt this would make much difference based on how the helmet is designed. Most likely this situation will improve with use, since we are talking about 1mm of misalignment and the chinpiece material should eventually conform to the correct position.Between the faceshield and the helmet proper is a pull-down sunshade like that on a helicopter pilot helmet. The pulldown tab on the left top of the opened helmet is a bit small and hard to locate, and it would be nice (for me) if the sunshade came down a a tiny bit lower, but then it might interfere with glasses, large noses, etc. That having been said, it's a great idea especially for those late afternoon rides into the setting sun. The sunshade is exactly the darkness that I would choose for it.Another excellent feature of this helmet is the removable liner with snaps in the back to hold it in the proper position. If you've ever worn a helmet in hot weather, you probably realize how nice it is to be able to wash the liner. Not having worn it riding, and since my bike has a windshield, I can only speculate on the helmet's aerodynamic qualities, but based on fit and appearance it should perform well either open or closed, without a lot of grabbing when you turn your head, unless you look almost straight up. Small fixed air vents in front and back of the helmet presumably help vent moisture and minimize fogging while riding.I bought this primarily as a winter helmet, since the cold dry Arizona air really hurts my nose & eyes even with a windshield. Back east I wore helmets with flip-up faceshields or bubble-shields, and without a windshield the flip-ups would catch the wind and flip up if you looked up, and the bubble shields would twist your helmet if you turned your head sideways, so I wanted to stay away from those options. While I'm not a big fan of full-face helmets, the modular idea appealed to me. While it probably provides less protection for your face if you crash, a helmet with a faceshield that locks in place, provides additional crash protection, AND can be easily moved out of the way seems like a winning idea... especially if you throw in the added utility of the sunshade.

Good vendor
ILM helped me pick a different model in order to get a larger size for my big ol' head. They accepted the return and recommended a slightly different model that offered the larger size. Good partner.

Do not read what others are saying
The media could not be loaded. Do not read what others are saying, strange smell, noisy... blah blah. These people are either comfortable driving a car too long or just looking for a beginner helmet and wants more than what they are paying.Note the more feature you want on a helmet the more riskier you are to be at an accident. This helmet is a bit whistling when you start going between 15-35... Above that the whistle stops. Now you have a combination of ventilation, natural air flow, high breathing, and moisture decompression... Hence... FOG FREE. If you are going fast on a close down helmet all the way, you would either lift up your visor every time it fogs or have some sort of high ventilation from the head piece, your chin-guard and your visor. Now what would you do when it’s actually foggy out? Take off the whole visor right? But your visor is made to block obstacles such as little bit pieces of rock, flies, etc.In other words, don’t mind the wristle, it goes away after you rev up at bit. It is more safer that way.On the other notes, it doesn’t smell. You get this fresh factory foam smell. To be honest, I like it that way. Then those that say the paint chips off like blaiming it on the paint quality.., they expect you to believe that it was just spray painted and not coated with anything else making it easy to scratch while that’s not entirely true. It is coated clear with a .001 mm paint vynil film. Meaning you can scratch it obviously it will show because you are now abusing its look, but the film is taking the abuse. When you are riding, depends on where you are going, a lot of things comes at your way. The helmet will do fine against light trails and smooth surface such as highway and freeways. But it won’t look pretty if you are on some rough surface, hitting your head with trees constantly or just falling off of it because your are not experienced maintaining your balance at your riding. Here’s what you pay for: The impact helmet shell and construction. Removable liners are a bit more expensive but only the ear pad removable... fits the bill. Then you get a high quality paint, a new Visor Fog Design, and everything else done manually including not so great front exhaust because you actually get a lot of air coming in from the whole area of the Modular separation... Keep in mind the air flow is the same as of all air coming in and out, keeping your head cool.
