Love these things!
I bought a "hybrid" trimmer head that lets you quickly swap between these blades or string. A lot of reviews complain about broken blades. Those people are misusing them! These are not intended to be used for trimming against fences, foundations, driveways, or anything else that is a continuous, hard surface. That's what string is for!Of *course* these plastic blades are going to be damaged by smashing them against concrete, metal, or stone. If they blades weren't getting damaged, the material you were edging against would! These blades are excellent for slicing through underbrush or clearing out overgrown areas. Much better than string! And they do a fine job on lawns in open areas.Occasional contact with something hard is inevitable, and yes, it will wear down the blades. So make sure you are using these as intended, and you'll be happy.

Good for grass; Bad for wood and rocks
After one hour of cutting the photo indicates what was left of six blades. These were adapted to a Stihl cutting head, which was easy. While cutting grassy sections, the blades worked very well. During the first ten minutes of work the blades seemed too good to be true. As it turns out, that was the case. The job required cutting woody plants and vines in an area that had stumps and a few rocks. Stumps and rocks broke the blades almost immediately. For the right use, these are probably OK.During a recent visit to the Stihl dealer I noticed some orange serrated blades that seemed much heavier, but they were out and did not know when they would be back in stock. No sign of them on-line.

Not bad
Definitely a BIG improvement over .095 heavy duty whip twine. I was using these in tall nasty mustard grass weeds that can be 3-4 feet tall with 3/4 diameter stalks over 2 acres. Twine simply was a waste of time, the plastic blades did pretty good but did not match up to the metal blades. Metal blades are very dangerous too so for the time spent the plastic blades did well and would do much better in lesser aggressive environments then mine. I would buy them again once in a maintenance routine, but for nasty weeds go metal blades.

Decapitate Zombies
I got the new trimmer head and put some of these blades on it. Holy Moses, I just have an urban yard and these blades are over kill, a few guys with these on their trimmers cud overthrow small countries. Not even sure if I will ever use them, unless we have the Zombie problem.

A fellow from the Texas Wildlife Service program stopped as I a clearing a fence line because he couldn't believe how quickly I was going through the +4 feet brush. When I showed him the weed warrior and blades he said I am going to have to get me one of those

Mediocre at best compared to originals
I bought these to use in my 3 blade weedeater head. they look like the exact units that came with the head but they just didn't hold up as well as the originals. I went through all but 3 of the entire pack weedeating my place just once.the originals, the package lasted me nearly a whole season. They would wear down really fast. I had a couple even detonate into pieces. I'm guessing a bad batch of plastic but quality control is, well, quality control, and the mark was missed on these. They inserted into the head just as easily as the originals and worked like the originals, other than the durability issue. I had pictures to add but no place to add them here.

Who has two thumbs and loves these things....
Anyone who says these things do not work great must be doing something wrong. I have used the same blades several times along about 60 feet of concrete flower bed border, 80 feet of foundation, 50 feet or so of stone walkway and 40 feet of curbing. There are not even any dings in them. The very ends are worn down a little bit but not much. When you really hit something that is hard the blades swing in and that seems to mitigate any damage to the blades. At the rate of wear on these things I am guessing this one pack will last me years. No more winding string!!

They're decent enough.
I go through about a pack of these every year. They last just slightly longer than the string trimmers. If you're looking for lasting durability, these ain't it. However the advantage to these is that they can cut through quite a bit thicker brush and weeds than the string can. Also I just find them easier to change out than dealing with the string. I can change these out on the fly, without having to retreat to the workbench to replace a blade or two, where when I run out of string, it's a whole ordeal to refill the string.
