Borges & Scott The Galway - Irish Tweed Flat Cap

I am very happy with the quality of the materials (the wool is nice, and I reallylike the quilted cotton lining), as well as the craftsmanship of this hat. It has a good dual quality of being warm for cool weather, as well as breathable for warmer weather. I also really like the look. As others have mentioned, it runs small. I find that is often the case for hats with an elastic band in the back, but sometimes you can stretch them out a little over time, so that the elastic doesn't pull as tight. I'm around 58-58.5 cm, so the M-L (which goes from 57-60) fits me well, but I do feel the pull from the elastic. If you're in the upper half (or even 2/3rds) of your given size range, or are sensitive to tighter fits, I definitely recommend sizing up. The color is nice (I got the Nightsky Hb), but is a bit lighter than what I expected. It is true to the pictures, but sometimes things have a different appearance in person. Also, I had a question for the seller (Tumia LAC), and they were very helpful and friendly. So long as you are aware of what you're getting (appropriate size, and your desired color), I definitely recommend this product.

To start off shipping was fast and the hat is beautiful. The quilted inner-lining is a wonderful touch as well. The only issue I had ran into was it does run a bit small.

The hats are great but while I ordered an extra large Amazon sent me size small twice. I could have returned the small hats but gave them as holiday gifts. Finally because I really wanted the hat I decided to try a med-lg which only marginally fits me. Return instructions were not clear nor were my chances of getting an ex large. I was very disappointed. Apparently the hats are made by a small Irish firm who states they are relying on Amazon to help expand their business but Amazon is letting them down.

I have a collector MGB so I needed a great looking hat to wear when Im cruising with british feel. I took a measurement, picked the correct size from the chart, fits perfectly. Planning on getting another color. Overall very happy with this hat.

This is the second Borges & Scott tweed hat that I have ordered. It is a flat cap called “The Galway.” The medium size cap fits me perfectly. My first selection from the makers was a baseball cap that I have worn almost daily since the cool weather has hit South Carolina. This 100% Wool hat is a “newsboy” or “baker boy” style cap that keeps my head warm and certainly gets a lot of attention. I look like the lead singer of ACDC on the one hand, or a gentleman from Ireland on the other.In my review of the first hat, I went into detail about the weave of the hat that was done in a historic Irish mill. A 300-year wool weaving tradition is apparent in the beautiful tweed of the Galway newsboy design. The concealed elastic section of the inner headband allows for a good fit for multiple head sizes.I like the design of this cap with a curved bill that blocks the sun but does not reduce the broad view on hiking paths. Every time I put either of the 2 tweed hats on, I notice how comfortable the hats feel. It is a great Galway tweed cap made by Borges & Scott.

My husband loves this style. I opted for the one size fits all. He usually takes a large. Although it fits well, it doesn't quite flop over at the sides as his other hats do. But he likes the fabric and I've noticed that he's been wearing it nearly daily in the cooler weather. I liked the options of colors, too.

I ordered this cap for my husband. He's worn it about half a dozen times, and really likes it. I ordered his usual cap size, but this one ran a little small. He can only wear it for a couple of hours until it becomes too uncomfortable, so, I would recommend going up one size. He has the blue one, and it looks great with jeans. It's very good quality for the price.

This cap is extremely well made and looks incredibly smart on person bought for. Actually my husband now has three and have given three for birthday presents for my friends husband. For this quality of cloth, style and fitting (even to small slapstick portion in back of caps band I believe well worth the price. Delivery time was excellent as was the care with the delivery. Thank you all concerned. I see I shall be buying more caps this year as they suityoung and older generation.

I was looking for a cap made from wool and natural material lining and came across this one. 100% Irish Tweed with flecks of blues, reds and yellow. So many caps have a polyester or synthetic lining but this was lined with a nice quilted cotton which was important to me. The elasticated feature is a nice touch which helps get the perfect fit.I will certainly buy another in a different colour. Arrived in a nice sturdy presentation box as well.

Ho acquistato la coppola Galway perché attirato dal suo aspetto e dalle caratteristiche qualitative descritte. Aspettative non deluse! La coppola è ben realizzata: il tessuto , il colore e la confezione di spedizione sono adeguati. Unico piccolo neo: io porto il 57 di circonferenza cranica , ho scelto (dopo richiesta al produttore, che mi ha risposto prontamente e cortesemente) la SM, che è fin troppo giusta! Ma credo che ,usandola, il tessuto cederà di qualche mm ed il cappello si adatterà ancora meglio. Lo consiglio per se’ e per un regalo. Vittorio
