RETROFLAGNESPi Case Plus Functional Power button with Safe Shutdown for Raspberry Pi 3 B+ (B Plus)

I'm a experienced computer user and builder, so I am certain I did nothing wrong when I installed my Raspberry Pi 3 B+ into this case as I have the original "Retroflag NESPi Case" that is not "Plus".This new "Plus" model's only extra feature is that it has a "Safe Shutdown"....okay there, that's BS. I connected everything and the board inside the Retroflag NESPi Case started to smoke???? I disconnected and checked everything, tried it again and it smoked again!I then took my Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and put it back into the first version of the Retroflag NESPi Case that came out before the "Plus" model and turned it on, no smoke or smell....Ok....?Be careful what you buy, I'm glad Amazon has a good return policy as I sent it back defective.

This case looks nearly identical to the previous case, but there are some slight differences. Most importantly, the lightning bolt/under voltage warnings have been resolved. (I am running a 3A power supply)The wiring used in this case is much more robust. In fact due to the thickness of the wire, they can be relatively stiff, and need to be bent into a shape a bit before installing your motherboard. The screws that attach to the motherboard and the ones used to close up the case fit much better now. Before, the holes were too small, but these seem to be much better.After installing the safe shutdown package, the reset and power buttons now run the proper scripts, which is great. Just make sure you enable the function with the switch inside the case before you install your Raspberry Pi board.

This little unit is freakin awesome. I love the working power and reset buttons. I was using a usb cable with a switch on it to turn my pi's on/off but this unit doesn't need that anymore! It's such a great case. I want the gameboy case next for battery operated mobile play! Keep churning these out, boss!

This was bought with the purpose of turning a Raspberry Pi into a vintage arcade system. Looks great and easy to install the Pi board. My case had an issue with the power switch which was a little bit of an issue but it would have been more troublesome to exchange it rather than find a workaround.

Great case for a Raspberry Pi with retro games. I personally use my old Wii Classic Controller instead of using USB controllers. Easy to configure the Power and Reset buttons. I recommend buying the case with the cooling fan included or buy a fan separately as the Raspberry Pi tends to heat up after an hour or so.
