đ¶ Girls just Wana have funnn đđ¶
I'll be honest I like to have a drink or two and when my family gets together we do tend to drink and it seems like there is a birthday or event or whatever constantly happening and after almost a yr of missing everything (pregnant) it's really nice to be able to partake again. With that being said I purely breast feed and I can't risk not being able to feed my son. So I love these! I've tested them multiple times out of paranoia haha and Everytime they worked. I've basically got it down to knowing how much I can drink and for how long the alcohol will be in my system. When the strip is white after two /three minutes I know the alcohol is out of my milk. If it turns even the lightest amount of blue I know there is alcohol. Depending on how blue it is I'll also know how long to wait before testing it again. So it's definitely nice to have them on hand. Very much worth it. And simple to use. U don't even have to fill up a cup to test it. Just squeeze some out onto the strip, (enough to fully saturate it) and then wait to see if it turns blue .

Better than Frida
These test strips are a better price and give you more insight to your BAC compared to Frida Mom test strips. Love using these after enjoying a few drinks to make sure my daughter is safely fed!

Let the milk seperate
It is the most accurate when you leave the milk in the refrigerator for a few hours and allow it to seperate. Then test the milk through the layers for 10 seconds.

Test strips do work!
I was weary about trying these and the accuracy on them. But after a night of a few alcoholic shots I tested my milk the strip did not change at all. So I added an alcoholic drink and my milk to a jar mixed together then tested it & the strip did in fact change!

Pair This with A Liquor Store Gift Card đ đ·
I have no idea how well these work. But I've never had a complaint. I always give breast milk test strips & a gift card to a liquor store for baby shower gifts. Gotta support the Moms!

They canât be working!?!?
Iâm very skeptical. I donât see how a bottle of wine cannot show upâŠ!?!?! Best new mom advice I received: If something feels wrong then it is wrong. A bottle of wine is wrong. I donât need a strip to tell me that.

Reliable but sometimes you have to wait more than 2-3 minutes for accurate results
I have used these QUITE a bit. Here is my consensus:To drink 1 drink (12 oz of beer at 6%-7% ABV) and test clear, you have to wait at least 2 hours after you have taken the last sip. I always check the time of my last sip and add at least 2 hours. Normally, it will be clear. Of course, this depends on how hydrated you are, how tall the glass was, how strong the alcohol was, if you are outside sweating or not, how much youâve eaten, and lastly, how quickly or not your body metabolizes the alcohol. So many variables. This gets murkier when you have 2 drinks back to back. I only do this if I drink them back to back at 8pm after my baby has gone to bed. If youâve had 2 drinks, after the last sip of your second drink, add at least 4 hours to when you can feed or pump again. The frustrating part: these donât always detect the alcohol within the 2-3 minute testing period after you have waited your allotted time. Sometimes, if I have my 2 drinks at 8pm and I get up at midnight to pump, I will test, wait 2 minutes, initially, itâll be clear. I will start pumping and 8 minutes into my pump, I have looked at the strip and there is a blue tint to it. My take on this is my body has almost completely metabolized the alcohol but there is still lingering alcohol in my milk and itâs so minimal that itâs almost undetectable. At that point, I will stop the pump and bag that milk and label it as alcohol and use it for baths. If you have 3 or more drinks, it would be best to chug some water before bed and sleep overnight before pumping or feeding. My rule of thumb is 2 hours per drink after I have taken the last sip of the drink. My drinks are always beer in a 12 oz can. If you have a pint (16oz of beer), youâll have to wait longer than 2 hours after your last sip.To address the elephant in the room- I wish there were better recommendations on alcohol and breastfeeding. My lactation consultant said if you can drive, you can breastfeed. Some nurses I have spoke to have also said this. At the end of the day, my take on it is: I donât want my baby to consume any alcohol from my body. I donât want to impact the development of my babyâs brain by allowing her to consume alcohol I have chosen to drink.
