Dragon NaturallySpeaking Training DVD, for Version 11 [Old Version]

I feel terribly foolish! I have used Dragon NaturallySpeaking for years without bothering to really learn how to use it. It has done a wonderful job for me, mind you, but I now realize how much better I would've been to actually learn how to use it. I purchased this video thinking it would teach me a few extra tricks. Oh yeah! What a moron I have been. If you are fairly new to the program, or even if you've used it for years, without really being able easily flip around, going from a Word document to e-mail, to changing format, and 100 other things. Then spend the bucks and buy the video. The first two lessons did not teach me anything. Starting in Lesson #3, my eyes were opened to what this program can really do. I am not a plant by Nuance Corporation. I am a real live human being who has retired to the Tampa area from the Southwest. Get the video, or be an idiot, like I was for more years than I care to mention.

Dragon is great. This DVD is not. It is not a training video; rather it is the video that should have come with Dragon for those who don't want to read even the basic instructions. Also, the video is put together poorly; volume is not constant. Not well laid out on the screen. Wasn't worth the money or the time spent.

I ordered the training DVD--the how-to booklet is missing. The container was sealed--so the darn thing was not packed with the DVD. So I can bring up the program but I can't make it proceed.

I work in medical transcription typing notes and I bought this to do less typing and still be productive. I do all of the dictating from the doctor's sound files into notes and it actually when trained does get up into the 90s range and higher as far as accuracy depending on who I dictate. It only hears my voice so it works really well. I use it in combination with straight typing and it works very well and no carpel tunnel symptoms. It is definitely worth the money spent. I can definetly talk faster than I type.

I received this for free when I ordered Dragon NaturallySpeaking premium 11. I found it to be informative as a basic introduction to some of the features of the software, but I would not have called it a training video. Previously, I had been using the Windows 7 voice recognition software which comes with a training tutorial. That training tutorial guided you in using actual voice commands and gave you opportunities to try it. That was what I was expecting with this training video, but it was really more of a movie/presentation of the software features, and not a how-to guide. I would not recommend paying full price for this, but if you can get it for free like I did, there's no reason not to. :-)*Dictated with Dragon NaturallySpeaking premium 11 with two dictation mistakes.
