The media could not be loaded.  We needed a baby gate to secure our living room for a baby. The distance between walls is large and the walls are not aligned, so none of the baby products I looked at would fit my living room. When I saw these I decided to give them a try. Thus far they work very well:Pro:* Very flexible in sizing* Strong enough so that baby shakes them and they do not open or move* Look good. Finished well (both wood and metal rods).* Fairly easy to assembleCons:* The closing mechanism could be better. In about a month our now 12 month old baby opened the gate door just once but my wife was not sure if she completely secured the bottom of the door or not.* Not as sturdy as it looks on the picture. Baby can shake it easily. So far I did not have any concerns of baby shaking braking the gate, so.I had a neighbor come in and when she saw the gate she right away became very interested - it took me a while to find this, so I know that people can easily miss these when looking for a baby gate, not a dog gate.

This gate is worth every penny. I got a German Shepherd dog over a year ago and used this to separate him between linoleum kitchen and carpeted living room. I got him as a puppy and now he is fully grown at ~80+ lbs. It is still very effective when I need to separate him. I used a crate in the beginning but don't anymore - I know crating is a good thing and have used them in the past with other dogs -- but just haven't needed to and this gate helps with not needing to. I really like the fact that this gate is adjustable to such a wide area to close off. I researched many before settling on this one and haven't regretted it at all. Sturdy, good looking, and well constructed and doesn't have to fasten to the walls (free standing). I'm sure if a dog was persistent, he could push it but I don't think this is a gate designed for unattended and being away 'babysitting' if you were really trying to separate the dog for long periods of time. The dog has not attempted to push the gate in any way but I use it to separate him for probably an hour or slightly more at most and it works great.

Pros: Very heavy. Both the wood frame and the metal grating are thick and sturdy. Looks and feels like a good quality piece of furniture.Pretty easy assembly, clear instructions — I’m a little old woman and assembled it myself in minutes.Cons: Very heavy. I intended to use this as a portable gate I could move into place or stash out of sight as needed, but this is just impossible due to the weight of the product.The latching mechanism is a joke, but could be quickly fixed by adding a traditional latch — the wood is sturdy enough to support that. I deducted one star for the latch mechanism, not for the fact that it didn’t fit my needs.

I really like this gate and it meets our needs but there are a few things to know.It's fairly sturdy but also heavy.You need a screwdriver to out it togetherYou need a screwdriver anytime you want to adjust the length of the gateYou have to unscrew the sides to fold in the wingsThe latch on the door is not nearly as sturdy as the rest of the gate (this is the reason for the three stars. If the latch was as sturdy as the gate I would give it five stars)Bottom line, it's not meant to be moved or adjusted frequently. Also, if you have a dog that will jump up on the gate with their front feet, they will most likely break the latch on the gate.

This gate is amazing! We love the size and the adjustability of it. It needs some assembly out of the box, but it’s very easy and only took maybe 15 minutes. From there is it very easy to adjust the width and even how well the door opens and closes. It’s also very sturdy. I mean if a large dog or large kid really wanted to knock it down then I’m sure they could, but it would take a lot of effort. But with that being said I do think it’s one of the strongest gates we’ve ever owned. The design is beautiful. It really is made of wood and it matches the other furniture it our house. And the gate works perfectly. I can’t say enough good things about this product. And I know it’s a little pricy but with this product you really do get what your paying for. I know that I will be buying at least one more of these, maybe more.

This is the best gate I could find for the price and specifications I was looking for (freestanding, attractive, tall enough for Rottweiler puppy and toddlers, and easy open for elderly grandmother). After searching and looking at reviews this seemed like a great option.After receiving and getting the gate set up, the gate seemed to be working and looked great (although I couldn’t never seem to get the door lined up perfectly). I don’t know if it was that I couldn’t seem to get it aligned right or I have smart dogs, but the dogs figured out within 1 day they could put their noses in between the rods on the door and push up a little bit and the gate would come open. At first, I was just going to install a latch like another user said he did for his smart and mischievous doggies. But after attempting one last chance to get it leveled with my dad (about 2 days into using it), he pointed out that the wood piece at the bottom of the door section where it meets with the side door was splitting, making the gate door not as stable as it should have been. I guess it’s back to Searching for me.

did the job I needed it for with our puppy and it was nice to look at in our living room. Easy access doorway was great as we could walk through it without having to move it. Highly recommend it.

I bought these gates to block entrances for children and my dog at my home daycare, I have gotten many compliments on how nice they are!! Solid! I bought one and loved it so much, I bought another one. Service was great too!

Love this gate and works perfectly for the space we need, so even though it arrived slightly damaged we decided to keep it.

Definitely not recommended. My 20 lb puppy was able to get through it. It is completely useless.
