Too Big for Small SUV Dashboard
Couldn't give an accurate rating as it was not what I expected--completely my fault as I apparently didn't read the description carefully. Probably workable for a car dash but much too big for my small SUV dashboard.

Good compass
As long as you keep it away from ferrous metal you will be good to go right out of the box. It does have adjustments if you do not have that option.

Very nice compass. a high quality marine compass but a well executed plastic copy that works well. I have this mounted to the windshield of my Honda Accord with industrial velcro. Very accurate. Works where several others wouldn't because of the many permanent magnet motors used in today;s automobiles. Would have given it 5 stars except for the total lack of instructions. It's large, but if your installing a marine compass in your car, that's half the fun. A conversation starter. You'll always know where North and South is and even if you're lost, you'll be able to find your way back to a freeway.
