## Description

SilverStone Technology PP08 Universal SFX to ATX Power Supply Adapter Bracket, Black, SST-PP08B

Review: includes screws, but the PSU may conflict with ATX mounting plate on certain computers - Installed to hold the Silverstone 80 plus titanium SFXL power supply in my Raijintek Styx pc case, which is originally intended to take an ATX power supply. I have an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 AIO up top in this case, and the hoses come down directly at the top of the vertically oriented PSU and then have to curl over to clear it on their way to the water block. It worked, my AIO is still working superbly, but when the PSU failed, it was an old one I transplanted, I migrated to this fancy SFXL and used this bracket. This bracket has an advantage in that the PSU will be positioned at the top or the bottom, as the square SFX opening is ready to take the PSU in either orientation, but is also on one side of the ATX bracket, which itself is ready to install in either orientation. This is super nice for a scenario like mine, because I installed the adapter on my case with the SFX mounting position closest to the front of the computer, right up against the optical drive slot. The smaller dimensions of the SFXL psu coupled with the bracket's ability to let me keep it right up against the front meant the hoses now have to compromise none at all, and the PSU itself is superb, almost never turns its fan on. However, I did encounter an issue, when you put the PSU on one end of the bracket but the fan is pointing toward the other way, like in my example the PSU is at the front of the computer relative to the mounting bracket I'm reviewing yet the fan on the PSU, its bottom, is facing the rear of the computer, the on/off switch on this particular PSU is blocked by the mounting screw on that corner of the case's own mounting screw for that same corner. It actually covers the on/off switch up a little. You can't screw it down and certainly the switch would be unusable. It would be doable to flip the ATX to SFX adapter in this review around to move the PSU toward the rear of my computer about an inch and a half, and then keep the PSU oriented the same way, fan towards rear, but that defeats the purpose, so I removed the ATX mounting plate from the Raijintek Styx case, it is easily removable, and cut that screw hole off with a rotary tool. Pretty not difficult, and me being totally blind didn't stop me from making it work. Just to be clear here, I had to mod the mounting plate that came with the case which makes it ready to accept an ATX PSU, I did not have to make any mods to the ATX to SFX adapter I'm reviewing. The other variation on these adapters, that places the PSU in the center, would be fine, and I think a computer case which was not able to accept the ATX power supply in either orientation would not have the screw mount in that corner if one positioned the whole affair just in the right orientation. But the Raijintek Styx is all backwards by requiring the PSU to be mounted vertically, with the power switch and exhaust vent facing downward. If you had a case with a bottom mounted power supply that laid horrizontal like normal, you'd probably mount the PSU with the fan facing downward to pull fresh air from under the computer, and you'd situate this bracket so that the PSU was at the bottom of the ATX hole. That situates everything just right that you wouldn't encounter my problem, I think. On the other hand, if you mount the PSU in that scenario with the fan facing upward, you might have the same trouble I did. If you have a top mounted PSU, you generally mount those with the fan facing downward so that they can suck air off the CPU fan or what ever else is blowing hopefully somewhat fresh air around in there. Ideally, you will position the adapter to keep the PSU at the uppermost position in the case. If you have the fan facing downward, that's exactly how I did with this bracket in my Atyx, albeit horrizontal instead of vertical, and you might run into the issue I did. If it's ok to mount the PSU at the bottom position by turning the bracket around and then still having the PSU's fan facing downward, then it should be ok. Alternatively, if your computer case allows air intake from the top through an exterior vent of some kind, then positioning the bracket with the PSU at the highest point, with the PSU's fan facing upward, would be ok. Otherwise, a rotary cutter will do super quick and efficient work on nearly any computer chassis material if cutting off that screw mount if you have to. Just be mindful of dust. If your ATX mounting plate is removable like my Raijintek Styx' one is, then that's ideal - just take it out and cut it far away from your sensitive computer parts. Otherwise, well, I'll leave it to you to figure out how to do that. I mark this a 5 star, it did exactly what I wanted. The problem I encountered is not the fault of the adapter, although perhaps Silverstone could be encouraged to help point this out on the product page as a possibility. I would have bought mine even if I had known about this though. And now, at least on desertcart, they'll have another reviewer clearing this up, well, for customers who pay attention to reviews, lol.
Review: Best SFX to ATX PSU Bracket Available! - This is the best SFX to ATX adapter currently available. Every other adapter I have seen centers the unit vertically and horizontally. This adapter centers the unit horizontally, but has it offset to one side vertically. This adds to functionality and placement as it can be placed vent side up or down thanks to the whole pattern. An example of this being beneficial would be placing it in the bottom of a case with a dust filter and vibration pads. You could place your SFX PSU in this adapter with the vent side up and fan facing down. Now your PSU will still be sitting on the bottom of your case, on the vibration pads, with the fan close to the venting / dust filter. On a centered adapter, it would be just hovering over the bottom of the case about an inch. So rather than drawing air from outside of the case, it would also be pulling quite a bit of warm air from inside of the case. I hope that makes sense. This adapter appears to be of high quality and feels solid. It has a nice solid black finish. The extra venting is a very nice addition. It includes 4 mounting screws which appear to be for attaching the SFX PSU to the adapter itself and not to attach the adapted PSU to your case. This will work with ANY SFX Power Supply as they all utilize the same hole pattern. Same goes for Computer Cases with ATX mounting holes. I used this adapter to mount a Corsair SF600 Power Supply into my Fractal Design Define Nano S case. My Asus Strix RX 480 Graphics Card now has much more room to breathe as the space between it and a regular ATX Power Supply is quite limited.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the bracket fits to a sfx-l power supply?**
A: Hello,

Yes SFX and SFX-L share the same mounting locations.

**Q: Will this fit on my cougar turret mid tower case? btw im using an evga 750w g3 psu**
A: Short Answer: Yes. But I don’t know why you would want a more expensive sff PSU in a case that can fit a standard sized PSU.

**Q: The hole layout looks symmetrical, so can this bracket be used upside down for a bottom mounted psu? Will put an SF450 in my Fractal Design Nano S.**
A: Bottom mounted PSU's the fan should point down so it will draw air from rear of case and back out through the body of the power supply. But yes you can mount it upside down. My case does have a cover for the PSU. Keep in mind heat rises.

**Q: Regarding sfx to atx bracket, what's the distance between the 2 mounting holes in middle row? is it approx. 3.5 inches?**
A: Hello,The distance between the two mid point mounting holes alligns with the standard SFX mounting holes. From a horizontal standpoint they are approx. 4.5 inches aparthttp://imgur.com/MoP850VFrom a vertical standpoint they are approx. 1 inch aparthttp://imgur.com/MoP850V

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does exactly what it is supposed to.
*by W***. on June 17, 2025*

Originally built a Mini ITX PC. Thermals weren't great with my 6950xt so I got a large case. Wanted to reuse my components. Got this and it made my SFX power supply fit like a glove. Very happy with this purchase.
