Yes, you can fit a 14x17 inch paper. Sorry to take so long in answering. It's a very nice drawing board and I'm glad I bought it. Get the attachment. It's very handy especially if you draw angle other than 30, 45, 60 degrees.

It comes only in centimeters, not in inches? If yes, why?

It not in inches, is cm.The reason is because it is made in Japan.
