Great product
I installed two of these in my square drop off road camper. There was previously no convenient place to put a drink prior to installing these since my camper is essentially a bed with doors. I have one near each door for me and my wife, in reach of us at all times. I used 3M VHB tape; supplied by me, and it holds great (VHB tape is amazing, and I use it for everything instead of using screws). This product holds our drinks, it's easy to adjust, and accepts everything from a beer can to a Nalgene bottle. Also, adjusting from one container size to another takes absolutely no effort. So far I see no reason to believe it will ever break. It stows away when closed, taking up no space, and provides a much needed function in my camper. I did buy other versions of this product, namely the kind where the adjustable pieces were on a slide as opposed to a pivot, and I threw those away because they felt super cheap. Also, the versions that use an adjustable slide were harder to adjust with one hand quickly.

Love it! Economical, rugged, easy to install, practical.
The media could not be loaded. I have tried many different types of cupholders for my vehicle (1994 Nissan Pathfinder). None have been as inexpensive, as easy to install, versatile and unobtrusive as this one. It mounted easily to my door panel with the screws that were included (4 screws that fit through pre-drilled holes in the side of the cupholder. There are actually 6 pre-drilled holes available, if you feel the need to make it more secure, but 4 screws is more than enough) The cupholder folds out when in use, and folds closed when I don't need it. It looks like it belongs with the interior, it is stable and accomodates all sizes of drinks from 12oz cans to 44oz cups (I am sure 64oz cups would work. I have never tried one that large.) Even if you use mugs, the open end allows for a handle. I highly recommend this. Great design and it isn't made from flimsy plastic, it is very tough and feels rugged. It is worth every penny.Update: I have used this product for several months now, and it does eventually wear out. It doesn't hug your cups as tightly as needed. I ended up putting superglue on it so it is not width adjustable anymore. I always use the same size drink so it wasn't a big deal, but I am still happy with it because I can't find a comparable product for the price, I'm still using it, and it does the job.

Nicely Constructed
I wouldn't use it in a boat, way too rough: it wouldn't handle it. However, for on-road vehicles, or an attachment to patio furniture or railings, this item is built well. The plastic it is made of is thick and heavy, even the swing-arms are fairly durable and tight. It has six screw-holes, two rows of three, to secure the backing to...whatever you're attaching it to. So far, it has held - securely- a heavy plastic (and tall) 24 ounce glass of water without any sign of weakening. And, this is attached to a patio ricker-glider I often swing back and forth in while reading. Sincd my rocker-glider is a double, I'm going to order a second one next time I place an order for other items. If you really want one for a boat, and really want this design, then look for the stainless steel one here on Amazon. I believe the cost was in the twenties, but I remember it was Prime as well. The stainless steel one should hold up to the pounding it would receive in a boat.

Probably the coolest, most unnecessary thing you can own, lol!
I love this thing! Seriously! I attached it to my wall next to my bed and it allows me to be SO lazy that I don't even stretch my arm two feet to grab my drinks from the shelf near my bed, now I only stretch like half a foot in front of me to where this gizmo attaches to the wall. It was super easy to attach to my wall, you don't even need a drill, just a solid screwdriver and some elbow grease and you can drive the screws into most drywall no problem. Just don't put too much force or you risk damaging the drywall. Would this thing be better if I had mounted it on studs? Sure. But it's solid enough to hold big drink cups with all 4 screws attached. Was this thing even necessary for me? NOPE. Is it the coolest thing ever? Heck yes! Now if only I could find a way to keep me from losing the remote all the time...

This was the perfect solution to a usable cup holder for the Mazda ...
This was the perfect solution to a usable cup holder for the Mazda Miata NB (series 2).Mazda designed a hidden cup holder inside the center console... problem is you have to open the console lid to use it. A very bad design, IMHO.I noticed a mugger installed in a parts-Miata I was scavenging parts from.Came to Amazon to find something similar and this little jewel popped up. Bought two of them, one for each side of the center console.I was able to mount them by backing out the two console screws on each side, just forward of the shifter. The screws are too short to use to mount the Mugger so I found a couple of longer ones in my stash of wood screws. Snugged them down using one of the pre-drilled holes in the Mugger and voila! When folded they take up almost no space. Folded out they are not too obtrusive and do a great job of holding my java.Check out the pix.Miata NB owners: YOU NEED THIS!Would highly recommend

I can finally stop spilling coffee on the seat
It's the little things in life... and having a cup holder is one of them! Brilliantly simple - my truck never did have cup holders and it drove me (and the previous owner who is a friend) CRAZY. I finally hunted this down after the last coffee incident and attached it to the door. I should have done this years ago! Next test will be a fast food cup but I don't see any issue with it doing it's job.Yes it's plastic and subject to break, but it's relatively strong and should last a while if you don't abuse it. For the price, order a couple extra for when you do.I'm going to order another for the passenger side... Heck I might even put a couple on the sides of the couch in the man cave... =)10/9/2012 and still love it. Takes the large fast food cups like a champ!

I'm a happy camper - literally!
Replaced the broken cup holders in my campervan. The screw holes matched up perfectly. It's so much better made (see picture, left is this cup holder, right is the old one). It's adjustable and fits my big water bottles. Oh, and it's made in USA :)

Es mejor que los portavasos que se cuelgan.

Simple yet effective
Despite the lack of pictures and detailed description, this product is exactly what I was looking for. It's a simple cup holder that you may affix to a surface with 4 screws that are included. It's a solid enough construction that holds many types of containers (mugs, water bottles, 20oz glasses, whether they have handles or not, etc.). The top part (the two arms) can be opened up wide or closed up smaller depending on the type of glass you are using. You may fold these down and then close up the bottom part as well for a low profile non-obtrusive fixture that won't get in the way if you are not using it.
