AIRHEAD SUPER PUMP, 120v

Caveat: I've only used this once, and could change my mind after extended use. I got it for an inflatable kayak that is supposed to go to 3 p.s.i., so the lack of a pressure gauge or ability to set a particular pressure point wasn't a problem for me --- hmm, well, assuming that I can rely on that 3 p.s.i. limit, TBD. Point of info for others not completely clear on this, the red tip attachment is the optional pressure relief valve if you want to inflate to a lower pressure point (was it 1.4 p.s.i.? something like that). But you can leave that off and presumably get to 3 p.s.i.I was very pleased at the volume of output and thus the speed of filling, and it deflated fine too. For deflating I think I'll need to --- what's the opposite of "topping it off" ? I'll have to finish off with a hand pump if I want every bit of air out of there as I found it difficult to quickly remove the attachment point to then push the valve button --- to stop some air from rushing back in. No problem, just FYI.I guess I wish the hose was a little longer; the electric cord is plenty long.Another sort of FYI for anyone in a similar situation: I bought this thinking that I would use it at home AND with an inverter in my car to inflate my kayak at waters edge. But the motor on this draws 900-and-some watts and I find that all of the inverters that can handle that require attachment direct to the car battery, not via the cigarette lighter 12v port. Complicating things for me is that my car is a hybrid, and they say that I shouldn't jump start another car with it, which makes me nervous about the idea of running an inverter off of it. And buying a separate 12v pump is a little cheaper than such an inverter anyway. I'll likely keep this for easier use to fill at home (to dry it out after a trip), but this was a bit of a voyage of discovery for me on these points.

Designed specifically for vinyl inflatables (not basketballs or bicycle tires), this pump gets the job done QUICKLY either inflating or deflating (ie., less than 5 minutes for a 5' x 24" children's pool). It doesn't overheat and comes with a 9.5' electric cord & 32" extension air nozzle with 4-5 device adaptors that should meet any of your needs. Bottom line: It's worth the money for those who can't afford wasting time watching something inflate/deflate with so much going on with other family responsibilities. This is a reasonable quality product that works quite well, is user friendly, and gets the job done efficiently. Search no further, I've done thorough homework on such products, and this is the one to purchase if you are a busy dad or grandad who finds peace in seeing the kids play. One thing I can't stand is a cheap, ineffective product.Also (BONUS), Tear-Aid Repair Type B Vinyl Inflatable Kit is the best product for patching general vinyl inflatable products. Trust me, as a grand-dad, I've done the research & experimentation! Quick & easy and can be applied while pool is inflated or deflated (clean/dry surface, of course). It takes seconds to accomplish & you will look like a hero to the family as you calmly resume your conversation over a Tommy Knocker Maple Nut beer.(Disclaimer: Nobody has offered me a reduced price or freebe for a biased review. I'm speaking personal experience & truth here. Take heed, son, grandpa has spoken!)

(4/2018) - I have owned one of the AirHead High Pressure 12V Pumps since 2011 (Model # AHP-12HP, currently $49.99 on Amazon). And I thought that pump was awesome with its Air Volume of 410 liters/minute and 2.5 PSI Max. This house plug-in, is even more fantastic for inflating things back at the house when I don't want to wake the neighbors by opening the hood on our car or truck. And it is actually pretty quiet, relative to my 12V AirHead and other "home" inflators like our old 120V Coleman. Plus our "Home Coleman" only does 1 PSI where this one does an Air Volume of 480 liters/minute and a Max Pressure 3.0 PSI Max.The hose that comes with this one is MASSIVE...I'd say 2 to 3 times the diameter of our other Coleman "120V Home Inflator" or our other AirHead 12V pump. Did I mention the hose's diameter is HUGE!? ;-) So, I can see what other people have written about in other reviews...I could see the potential for the "friction" fit adapter to just blow out the end, because this sucker is SUPER POWERFUL (yet again pretty quiet, relative to other inflators). Anyway, a person needs to use the friction adapter just to "lock-in" most of the other adapters (like Boston and etc.). So we will see if I end up needing to add any type of double stick tape or maybe a strip of electrical tape (yet it seems nice and tight now)...but other than that, with a pun intended...this thing BLOWS!!! ;-)Man does it blow...so much so that I'd say people will have to be careful to not over inflate simple air mattresses. But for things like Advanced Elements Kayaks (a person will still have to be careful to only go 2 PSI). Yet, this will be great to get a good start on any inflatables with a Drop-Stitch Higher Compression floor and inflatables that need LOTS of air...as it will only take this thing seconds.
