NOVA SSK Spare Chuck Fastening Screw Set

As advertised

This 8 piece hardware kit costs me $16 at the local Wood Craft Supply store. It's less than $5 here. Assuming some people don't already know this, DO NOT USE AN IMPACT TOOL TO TIGHTEN THESE DOWN! I used an 18 volt Dewalt impact driver to put these in and take them out for a solid 6 months. Finally the hex wrench sockets stripped out on half of them. i told a friend what happened and he said "Dude your using an impact tool for this tiny fasteners!?!?!" DO NOT DO THIS! Your lucky they didnt all cam out! Spend the extra 5 minutes and put them in with a normal hand operated Allen wrench. The first time around I went and spent freakin $16 on an 8 piece set from the retail store, but never again! Next time around, when I'd finally come to grips with how stupid what I was doing was, I went and spent $5 here on Amazon for a set (I bought 2 sets to make sure I was covered for life) for the exact same set of screws. i hunted around on the internet to make sure I was getting the best deal, and I could not find them cheaper ANYWHERE. if you need these screws for a Nova chuck, buy them from Amazon and sit on your hands for the few days it takes for them to arrive (unless your rich). I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that ANY OTHER RETAIL STORE will be similar highway robbery. When I bought them I was at a kind of recess part of my life and instant gradifiction took top priority.I'm going to end this rant on that note. DO NOT BUY THESE RETAIL UNLESS YOUR THE TYPE THAT CAN AFFORD TO LITERALLY BURN MONEY!end rant.Honestly when I bought these retail, I was one messed up guy in the head. I had convince myself that the projects I was in the middle of as well as the projects I was plotting agtainst, ABSOLUTELY HAD TO BE COMPLETER WITIHIN 48 HOURS. Looking bad, I could kick my own ass with regards to the choices I made on the subjet.If you have a pressing job to complete ASAP, yes go ahead and buy retail. If not, Go ahead and spend 2.5X the just cost for the same product. I buy a good amount from Wood Craft, bit it's wood and acrylic lathe blanks that you know to be what you want (you see the grain first harst hand) , but really don't buy anything else unless it's that you have researched free-lance, and things you can't find anywhere else (there are a few0God Wood has a solid inventory of Domestic wood blanks and hardware. But that's where it ends in the lathe discussion. If you have any questions about my post, just reply and I will respomd in as appropriate as possible manner.

If you need one of these screws to replace the one which just rolled through a crack in your workshop floor, you know instantly how essential this set of screws can be. There is no substitute!!

Worked excellent on my Nova chuck jaws!!

Arrived quickly (1-2days) were asDescribed/stated/work nicely! Exact o.e.m. Replacement for the Nova chuck👌 I had busted A screw by not keeping it tight enough on the pin nose jaws (these jaws only come with one screw mounting hole per jaw section,unlike the normal 2 screw fastening holes per jaw section on most jaws!! These were exact fit replacements👌💯

I’ve read that there are better lathe chucks on the market. But like with my Nikon cameras, once you’re into a system, you can’t change without a big expense. My SuperNova 2 chuck works fine for me. I’ve almost dropped a screw into an irretrievable location a couple times, so I decided to get some spares. As with everything for the Nova chucks, all the parts fit any chuck. These screws work great.
