You should discard sunscreen if it's separating, clumping, or if your skin (i.e. fingertips) were in contact with the hole for dispensing product. The oils on your finger can cause bacterial growth. Separation or clumping indicates product break down. In some cases, clumping or separation can happen because the product was incorrectly stored or transported. It's basically a judgement call because i an not certain about the SPF potentcy if the product was stored incorrectly or improperly after opening.
