Great product - if you follow directions.
I bought the gold paint, which looks more bronze-ish in reality - but that's great - very classy. As most reviewers say, it's all about good prep.It is easy to mess this up by applying the paint too thick. It is very like 'Smoothrite' so you need to get it right first time... do not attempt to over-brush mistakes. Let it dry and go again. The supplied brush is not great. Using a good quality brush makes a big difference.I used ½ tin of paint doing 3 coats front and 2 coats rear on my VW Touareg, which has big Brembo calipers. The metalic paint needs stirring a lot and brush strokes are apparent, so be careful.Overall, highly recomended.

Gloss red
The paint dried quick and had a good smooth finish. Kit could be doing with a small fine paint brush. I had to get one from my sons art set to keep it tidy. Done all 4 calipers, twice and loads of paint left over.

If you want to paint your brake calipers this is the product to get
I bought this product to paint the brake calipers on my car, I must say it is" first class" I did them in gloss racing red, it covers very well I gave them two coats and they actually look like they have been powder coated, I fully recommend the product.

Poor Communication
I have already left a review but thought I should come back on to make things clearer. I opened the package and the box inside clearly said that some things such as wire brush and gloves were not included, whereas the advert said they were. I gave a 1 star review, however, after now going out and buying those missing parts, I have opened the box to find that they are actually in there and have obviously been put in as an extra to the original package. This is great, but, why have a label saying that they're not in there? I've just wasted 25 minutes complaining for no reason. Do yourselves a favour and cover the label,to prevent any more confusion.

Brilliant kit for the money. Very happy with the results.
Purchased this so I could attempt to colour my calipers myself (as opposed to paying someone £150 to do it).Biggest issue I had was preparing the calipers and freeing them of rust. The kit is comprehensive and included a tin of paint, a can of brake & clutch cleaner, a paint brush, stirrer and a pair of gloves.Once free of rust, and cleaned with the brake cleaner, It took roughly 3 coats to get the desired finish, and there is plenty of paint left for future touch-ups, having used approximately 1/3rd of a can.You need to leave each coat to dry for the required 30mins and once you are happy, it is recommended to leave for a full 24 hours before driving any great distance. This gives the paint a chance to fully harden. The first coat needs to be a light coat and subsequent coats can be thicker. Be sure to mask up any rubber areas, hoses etc.My only criticisms would be that the paintbrush could be of better quality and I would suggest purchasing an artists paintbrush for the intricate areas. It took me about 8 hours to complete all 4, but that included breaks, prep work and cleaning my wheels as well.I would definitely recommend this kit, and there are plenty of colours to choose from. Check the colour options though, as there are 2 matt options (red & black). All other colours are gloss. I chose Race Red which is gloss. If you feel up to painting your calipers yourself, then this kit won't dissapoint.

Would be 5 stars however...
The paint itself appears to be good quality. I was a bit annoyed like many other reviews to see the paint colour was not as per my order. I ordered the dark blue and the paint itself was more like the sky blue or not far off it. I checked the box and it was marked as the dark blue so like many others it's misleading. Anyway I decided to go ahead with it. I was planning to mask up etc but in the end just freehand winged it. Came up nice enough, better than the rusting bare metal before the paint went on.Dries fairly quickly so I gave around 3-4 coats over the course of around 1.5 hours or so. The paint is a little lighter on the car than I would have liked but if you see the photos, the car itself is a lighter blue and it's a reasonably good match for the vehicle.Would be better if you got 2-3 brushes as they start to harden/deteriorate as you get to coats 2 & 3. Guess I would buy again depending what colour I'm after.
