An Artful Documentary Series
This documentary series is nearly as artful as the works produced by the artists it features. Each "episode" is about 15 minutes long and focuses on one artist working in media such as graffiti, aerosol art, portrait photography, or street art. Each artist speaks about his or her craft from typically an urban perspective, dispensing advice from each's incredibly authentic experience. Each chapter, while short, is concise. One gets a good introduction to each subject's art and his or her words on the craft. While each artist tends to speak to his or her medium (or media), the advice applies to certainly all artists, and probably those outside creative endeavors as well. One may find some segments too short, but that's simply the style of the show. One may also wonder if some artists don't simply repeat what others have said in previous episodes. That only inspires further contemplation, though, as one considers the emphasis on a particular virtue brought on by redundancy.I'm sorry to find this series is in short supply. If you put down the money, though, it will be well worth your time.
