Exactly as advertised
It's exactly what I wanted. I had a laptop that was always too hot to touch, and after 24 hours my laptop it still cool to the touch. As the entire unit is mesh, I imagine even just using it without the fans would work just fine unless you're gaming. It's quieter than my laptop's own fan when it really gets going, but would probably drive you nuts if you work in complete silence. If you work with a TV or music on, you won't hear it at all. One of the fans is not on as tightly as the other one, so it slightly osculates which I can feel if I place it on my lap; not enough of an issue to deal with sending back and forth so I will keep it as is. It works great & I'd suggest it to anyone as long as you don't mind the always-on blue lights (which I don't mind because I don't work in the dark anyway.) UPDATE: I pulled the unit apart & was able to glue the fan motor to the plastic and it no longer osculates. Still 4/5 because I don't think you should have to do surgery on a brand new item.

did not last: fan now rattles so loudly
I can't really use this anymore because the fan rattle is too loud.

Developed a rattle after a month
The noise from the cooler was low on the initial use, the typing position is good if a bit too raised up.This is not a super-stable platform for typing: the mesh flexes with pressure. The cooler looks reasonably attractive (I like red color).Unfortunately, it seems it is meant for occasional duty only - i shared this one with a colleague of mine in the office and my guess is that ~14 hours daily for 6 days a week for a month overtaxed the bearings and the fan developed a rattle. And unfortunately that happened after the 1-month return period.

Brilliant cooling, but really slippery.
This laptop cooling pad is a half-baked mix of brilliantly effective cooling combined with some unfortunate product design choices. My Macbook Pro remains cool to the touch, along with pleasantly cooling the base of my palms. Without this cooling pad, my MBP gets too uncomfortably warm, but this cooling pad keeps it pleasantly cool to the touch, and a constant stream of cold air flows from the top and bottom surfaces, keeping it pleasant to use while my MBP keeps cranking away.Cons:* First of all, the inclined surface - although it provides improved air circulation underneath - is too slippery and I find that my Macbook slides right off. There is no friction on offer from the perforated metal mesh surface, and this poses the risk that when a computer is left on the cooling pad, it might slip off and fall to the ground. If the top surface had a rubbery non-slip texture, this would be an amazing product, and would have earned another 1.5 stars.* I also wish the blue LED on the cooling fans could be turned off somehow. I personally find it irritating, and that it cheapens the look, but YMMV. If the LED had an OFF button, I would add another half star.If the above two negatives were addressed, this would be the ultimate cooling pad, and worth a more premium price.

Exactly what I ordered. Great color and super quiet fans.
Shipped and arrived very quick. Very well made and looks good with my red laptop. The fans light up blue once the unit is connected. The USB connection is pretty neat. The end of the USB adapter had a cutout on the top to place another USB directly into the power cord to save room if you don't have a lot of USB ports. Very nice touch for saving USB port space. The fans provide just enough airflow to keep the laptop cool. The fans a super silent and you don't even notice them spinning once the unit is on. The blue light along with the fans give it an extra clean look and feel. Over all very impressed with this fan. I would recommend purchasing this for a laptop. I purchased the red to match my laptop. The color matches great with my HP laptop. Overall great buy

Great cooling fan, even greater price!!
Okay, so I got my cool cooling fan for my Laptop a couple days ago, and I am greatly happy with with my purchase. For the price, this thing is awesome, I really like that the USB connection has a Male and Female part on it, so you don't have to dedicate a USB port just to using the laptop cooling fan. It is really light weight too, and I like the cool blue light that shows when it's plugged up and running. I will however offer these words of wisdom...don't ask me now I managed to do it...but I cut my finger on the edge aluminum mesh screen where they bent it over to hold it in place under neither sides. It was a very tinny cut so don't panic lol, but just be careful handling it. Of course it could have just been mine *shrugs*Anyways, I would recommend this product, it even fits my 17" perfectly. Thanks for listening :)

Added heat protection.
We have had previous laptops eventually overheat. I have always wondered if this nature of the beast. Since we purchased a new computer I decided to try and protect it from heating issue and bought this cooling pad. The usb power is awesome, and you can plug another usb accessory into it. Between the blue tone and the slight noise when running you can tell that it is on. The noise isn't that noisy hopefully that stays the case but something running constantly will eventually wear out. I hope this helps protect our investment. So far so good!

What a deal!!
I was able to do some research prior to purchasing my Aluratek ACP01FR Cooling Pad, and I must say it works better than I thought it would, or should, for the price. Almost immediately, it made my laptop more comfortable to use. IT IS as quiet as they say in their 'sales blurb'! It's extremely light, EXTREMELY quiet!.. On my lap, my computer is staying cooler than ever! I'm happy with my purchase.

good enough
its a little too quiet, and the fans feel very weak. While it does an adequate job, i think this is more of a home/nighttime product more than anything else. I'll likely be buying another model (topmate) with almost twice the RPM. Also one of the centerpieces on the fan wasn't built right, so it looks odd while spinning. defect?Outer fan speeds dont even affect CPU temp that much, maybe 3*C, while a stand for bottom airflow already cools it by 1*C.edit: The metal mesh sticks out and latches on to everything. Had to tape a new product, nice. And the nameplate (aluratek) sticks out, it scratched the bottom of my laptop. because the plate was flimsy and attached with tape, i took it out and now there an ugly rectangular dent in the corner where the plate used to sit. Please do not get this garbage.

If you need a cooling pad, this is the one
I have a laptop that overheats within an hour but otherwise serves me well. So I use this cooling pad and I can leave it running for hours without any overheating. I bought one of these, and six months later bought a second one of the exact same model -- so I now have one for home and one for the office -- that should say it all.

Good buy.
I use my laptop on my lap (!) and it used to get very warm. Now this cooling tray keeps the laptop cool very effectively. It is also extremely quiet and light. I like that the back is raised so that my wrists do not become sore. Good ergonomic feature. It just needs to be plugged into a USB port on the laptop to work.

Cheap
This small fan is tiny under a 17" laptop. 15" should be the maximum size. The case sits very high in the front which can make usage awkward. It can be slightly noisy to very noisy from moment to moment. The material is red themed but the LEDs are a bright blue.
