Great value, get em while gettings good!
The media could not be loaded. I needed a budget amp for my truck and I had seen Big D's amp dyno video on the MR2 amp and met and exceeded it's ratings and it is tinsey the footprint isn't much bigger than a cell phone, but it was out of stock but the R2 was the same price and same wattage but at 2 ohms and it's a A/B class. So I rolled the dice and ordered it and I can say I'm quite pleased it feels nice and solid well made and it seems to make the advertised power and sounds good. The whole A/B class sound quality being superior isn't relative these days class D is so refined nowadays you are not going to hear a difference on a subwoofer if there's even any difference nowadays. It has a clipping light that's nice and unheard of on a budget amp, it also has dual output terminals vs the MR2's undesirable super small gauge wire going through a molex connector. Down sides are that class A/B amps are not as efficient and consume more power than class D and they run fairly warm at all times, is it a problem prob not if its not smothered in a tight spot could be an issue under heavy use, another it has plastic mounting feet molded into the end caps they didn't break but there not as strong as metal ones, it has spade type screw terminals not lugs..boooo. Also it's only 2 ohm stable but on the up side it still makes 500+/-wrms at only 2 ohm not down at 1 ohm and 1 ohm stresses an amp more and is typically less efficient. It's alot larger than the class D MR2, that's not an issue for me I have plenty of room plus the larger size looks more impressive than the tiny tiny MR2. Overall it's a great value it actually makes me consider there 4K that's $399 for my caravan to replace my 1200+wrms Pioneer GM9701 but by time I ready to upgrade the price will have gone up. I imagine all Toro Tech amps will go up in price before long unfortunately.

Could be a good budget amp
I ordered this to go with a single C.A.B ultra 12 I received as a surprise me package and use them as a back up to my Zv5 12 thats coming in tomorrow and Pure Audio 3000.1 which in being replaced by a wolfram O series 5000.1 when it comes out in August. I came across a ad on FB for this company and checked them out. The 2 big things that helped persuad me was first the price ... i was a little skeptical at first because it was low low and second was the honesty on the RMS of the amp. Most companies over size and push the peak power with huge numbers and if they even do post rms its not close to true . Toro puts wattage at each ohm and i believe it could be true. I have not hooked it up yet or the sub. But I do like how the amp looks, how it was packaged. I will do a update after i hook it up and play it for couple days.

An amp and a stove top all in one!!
Wrong amp was delivered. I ordered the r3 and what came was the R2. I have a kicker 12 Q class DVC2 that's 850W RMS, witch is why I ordered the R3. The sub was barely moving wired in parallel to 4ohms, it says in the manual and on the sub itself that it can only handle 2ohm minimum final impedance, witch with a dvc2 sub that's impossible. but in the description and in the Q&A section toro states that the amp can run at 1ohms so I wired my sub in series to a 1ohm load , got the gain turned up maybe a 1/4" of the way. At one ohm it makes that sub shake the ground but after a 20 min ride to work I can cook a steak on the amp it gets so hot. Ive already committed to just melting it down then replacing it with a proper amp but this R2 is one tough SOB. I cant believe it's still going to be honest. I've got the big 3, a 4 fared capacitor, AMG battery, 4 AWG OFC WIRING, 12AWG OFC speaker cable with gold tip banana plugs, so none of those are the issue. I know it says 2ohm minimum but cant and 4ohms it's not even worth hooking up so sense toro states it can handle a 1ohm load, well it sure can it can but I'm gonna find out for exactly how long it can go before it turns its motherboard into liquid magma!!!

Lots of power in a small package
Got this hooked up to 2 skar audio 8's at 1 ohm and it beats them up. Amp gain is only turned up 1/3 big power for such a small amp. Definatly buying another one

R2 amp 500/1000 watt
I'm beyond impressed. I wasn't sure at first but decided if it was overrated like most amps in this price range I'd put it on my 6x9s. I currently have it on a rockford p1 12 dual 4 at 2 ohms and holy God does it hammer. And I only have the gains at around 33%. I have no reason to believe that what toro claims their amps will do, they'll do. I used to have a 500 rms rockford amp and this seems to be slightly louder, leading me to believe toro is under rating their amps. I'm considering a toro fierce 12 sub and all toro components. Dear toro, if you can keep up this quality at this price, you may convert a die hard rockford guy of 10 years to a toro guy.Ps.I've emailed toro a few times with questions about products and always got a personal answer back within 10 hours. Great customer service and great product. What else could a basshead ask for?

For the Money
For the money and size, you will NOT do better.I am pleasantly surprised with the clarity and power these little things provide.Needed a small footprint for the Jeep, and these fit the bill. I usually don't write reviews, but had to come here and share my experience.Running the Mr2 @ 1ohm to a Alpine Type R 2 Ohm DVC in a truck "Q bomb" box in the back of a jeep wrangler and it sounds amazing.I also have the Mrx2 running 4 Polk Dbs at 2 ohm per channel and the clarity and power is also shocking to me for the size.Also...neither are remotely hot running for 10 mins at almost full volume.Great job Toro! I'm a fan.

Well made!
I have not installed yet, so I’ll update after I do. Appears to be incredibly well built and of higher quality than its price point. I can’t wait to install and hear it.UPDATE: I’ve had this mini monster installed on a single Audio Legion 12” 2 ohm DVC sub, bridged to 1 ohm mono for over a year now. Trust me when I say this thing is impressive for its size. I’m not “nice” to it by any means, and this thing takes it like a champ. I’m an ex “Pro-class” IASCA competitor and have had amps from all the old school giants that cost 5 times what this little guy does that didn’t hold up this well for this long. I honestly think I’ve found my new favorite budget friendly audio brand.

RMS
I like how people always look at the peak not rms. It says in the description 1000W PEAK 500 RMS. Then you want to blame the company that the amplifier gets hot or it blows. Always Rms not peak. There is a lot of videos on YouTube if you don't understand.

Great Value Products, Good Build Quality & Affordable
Toro, I'm quite impressed. About the only complaint I can come up with is that these amplifiers do not have a second set of RCA jacks for passing the signal to a second amplifier. This small missing feature can be worked around by using an RCA cable splitter to split the signal before the amplifier into multiple sets of RCA cables to use with multiple monoblock amps running off a single set RCA's from the stereo deck.I have a Toro R6 model amplifier currently hooked up in my house as part of my home theatre system powering car audio subwoofers. The amplifier after several hours of use playing music isn't even warm to touch, with 2 feet of 2 AWG welding cable connecting it to a 100 amp rated PowerMax brand PM4 model power supply.I suspect this amplifier won't have any issues in the long term, this doesn't appear to be a cheaply made amplifier and for the price point / features I think Toro Tech amplifiers offer a great value.Cheers to Toro for making their products, in the future I would like to buy more of your equipment to incorporate into my car stereo projects to sell to my customers.

It’s ok.
It’s ok, it’s not ground shaking by any means, but it’s super compact. For the price of this and the adjustment gain I could have just bought a kicker amp. It works, and will have to do the trick.I replaced the stock subwoofer amp in my 2016 Polaris Rzr with this. Same size, more adjustments and sounds maybe a bit louder. Fit inside the enclosure nicely.

Perfect!
Powering 2x Skar Audio 8s in a Jeep JKU. This amp pushes solid consistant power as I measured with a very close rating as advertised. Without a doubt these amps are slightly primitive inside but work fantastic! Bang for the buck is excellent! The size will fit under a seat, but in my jeep I mounted it in the trunk toolbox and it made a super clean install.Cons: None to be honest I would change for this price point. You get more than you pay for IMO.

The best
Listen this little thing rocks. I hook it up to a scar 8 inch and yow it does the job. Once you get it tuned and your gain structure right she runs cool no problem.
