It feels solid with some feet underneath which gives some space between mat itself and the sink - this is extremely useful as all the oily water can flow to the drain well and mat stays relatively clean. The size I bought is large, well , it is still seems small for my big single bowl sink (80cm), but Ok to use for putting pans and pots. It does give a good protection to the sink. Have used it for over a month and it did not stained (yet) and easy to clean. I have also put hot pans on it, didn't burn it. Will see how long it can last.
