This tachometer has wires that are too short by half, and was easy to hook up once I added several feet of wiring to attach it to. This thing registers over rev right off the bat. It's reading over 7500 RPM at idle. I tried switching between 4, 6, and 8 cylinders and it made no difference at all, I think the switch is non-functional. When the display shows over-rev, the V in over, and the 2nd number in the RPMs never lights up unless I wiggle the plug in the back of it, but once I let go of the plug those digits go out again. I bought this to use on an HEI distributor on a 250 I6 engine. I wish I had saved time and money by purchasing a higher priced, known brand name tach. I am not happy with this at all. poor product description
The product is nice and works fine however, in the description it did not specify that it will not work on a 4 stroke 1 cylinder engine. Now I feel like im stuck with it. By the time I pay to ship back and pay the restocking fee, its not worth it.

The RPMs just flash different numbers from 100 to 9999. No instructions or help.

Excellent item
It exactly matches the description. works very well on my honda accord 4 and 6 cylinder engines. It is better if it has on/off button and longer wires.

it looked cool when it worked though....
I installed this on my sandrail mostly to fill a extra gauge hole in the console, and it worked great for about 8 hours. after that the display started to give out, almost like the multiplexer for the display was dying. it just showed a single digit for about half a second before moving to the next, then the rpm warning light came on, no more numbers, then the light went out. its been dead ever since, no signs of life at all...
