Every Which Way But Dead: Hollows, Book 3

Rachel is going to have to make some tough decisions, ones that will scar her forever.I confess the reason I love this addition to The Hollows series is Kisten. I need a Kisten in my life. He can be a royal pain, but deep down he knows that Rachel is broken inside from failed relationships. He's not about to walk into one with Rachel and expect her to change, or give him something she isn't able to. And while he can be pushy, he also knows the clear signs of when to back off and respects them. Being a living vampire, yes he wants blood, but he's willing to go without it for Rachel's sake. Though lately it's been hard for her to say no.Rachel is learning to toughen up in this novel, even if it has to be beaten into her. Each time she goes toe to toe with Al, it's nothing but page-turning action. Watching her try to outwit him and find whatever loopholes are exciting to read. She's also taking on increasingly harder runs allowing the reader to see how much she is beginning to change as a character. Even if it means some of her morals are starting to be compromised.The farther Rachel journeys down her path, the more involved the world-building becomes. We start to learn more about Rachel's father and what exactly happened to him. And the Ever After is no longer just something to be seen through second sight. It becomes a tangible area that begs to be explained in future novels. There is a rich history there, just begging to be tapped into.As always, The Hollows is an adrenaline filled ride. I can't wait to continue to the next!

Just finished reading the third book, in The Hollows series, Every Which Way But Dead. I must say, Kim is keeping it real, with the slow burn, the incantations, spell mixing, ley line magic use, demon mingling/summoning (not of her own choosing), straightening Ivy ( her vampire roommate) out on their status as roommates only, familiars, getting dumped by her boyfriend Nick, now dating Kisten (Piscary's scion), and even joins a were pack to get discounted insurance rates among other things. Bigger and bigger things keep happening seemingly out of Rachel's control but she fights with all that she is to stay sane and home with her work partners, Jenks the pixie, and his 32 children and wife ,as well as Ivy. Kim's books never disappoint. Her stories grab you from the get go and never let up until the last page!! Get writing style is amazing.. I love all the characters...Not a dud in the bunch..Would recommend for adults due to minor use of foul language and violence, use of witchcraft , spell mixing and adult situations. A few typos seen but nothing to freak out about..You still understand the context.. Just needs a few more commas in certain places and we're golden here. I can't wait to read the next book...Keep them coming girl...I read fast during lockdown..

Don't let other reviewers compare her to Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake, since I no longer read that series since Anita became a sex sucking demon, I gave up hoping she'd get back to ass kicking. Now there's little miss Rachel, getting good at recovering from severe ass kickings, slapped around by bigger and badder bad guys, every few chapters.I won't read a story where the lead doesn't learn and improve.I'm giving this one more book.Why? Because the writer usually gives up on the character after a few books anyway, why should I pay for apathy? If Rachel gets slapped in the face ONE MORE TIME! I'm done here too.

I liked this audiobook but it was bit of a disappointment after absolutely loving the first two books in the series. This was a re-read for me but I actually didn't remember anything about it from my initial read years ago. I am actually pretty sure that this is the book that I stopped on when I started the series the first time. It was a good book but it wasn't anywhere near as entertaining as the first two in the series were for me.This book started out really strong with Rachel having to deal with Big Al. Things looked pretty bad for her and I had no idea how she was going to outsmart him. She ends up getting a bit of help from his familiar and a werewolf insurance agent. It was a close call for Rachel and while she is trying to recover a secret slips out and Jenks ends up mad...and leaves. I missed Jenks constant presence in this book.This book really seemed a bit more focused on the character relationships. I can't say that I really liked all of the developments in this installment. Nick can't handle being near Rachel so he leaves town. Rachel starts dating Kisten and while they have chemistry it seemed to happen way too fast. Ivy is having her own struggles with Piscary and staying in control. Jenks needs some time away to cool down. This felt like more of a transitional book that may be laying the framework for future books.I did enjoy the narration in this audiobook. Marguerite Gavin is really the perfect narrator for this series. She is Rachel in my mind but she also performs all of the different voices very well. I never have any trouble understanding who is speaking and her delivery really keeps my focus on the story.I would recommend this book to others. This is the third book in the series and I really do think that this series needs to be read in order since everything builds from the earlier books. Readers who try to read this as a stand alone will most likely be quite lost. I am looking forward to starting the next audiobook in this series very soon!

This is the third book in the Rachel Morgan series and the best yet. Completly griping the whole way through. I cannot wait to read the next book.The more of these books you read the more interesting and touching they become,because you feel like you know the characters so well.These books are so brillant because they take you into another world.My favourite character is Jenks.He is absolutly fastenating.Please read these books. you will not be dissapointed.

I had the whole series in paperback form then bought on kindle for long trip to NZ

These are an okay series for me I felt they dragged a little in places, haven't completed the set yet, they are good and can also be quite heavy. very good at the same time - I know this sounds confusing! Just try dead Witch Walking and see what you think - its different for everyone!Quick delivery, well packaged.

Another great book from the Hollows series, I find it hard to put it down I enjoy reading it so much. I have just ordered the rest of the series

Another fantastic fae story.I can't say much that I haven't already said about the first two books without spoilers so... Just buy it - if you like the supernatural and fae worlds.....Just buy it!!! :)
