Consistent with description - Excellent product
I revisited this post on 3/26 because I could see the copper when I scraped the wired while re-working my laser gun project. The observation was on the yellow wire. The red wire had a Cu tinge, as did the black and green wires. The blue and white did not. I scraped the white wire with my diagonal cutters and then cut the wire, but I still couldn't see any Cu. I did the same with the blue - no Cu. However, the red and green still have a definite Cu core!I will not downgrade the product because it works! I.e., wires solder fine and I have no issues with their conductivity. However; I do apologize to anyone needing a higher Cu content, for whatever reason, since I suspect it's not there. I.e., from my latest review, it seems there is less Cu than I expected, but not enough to change my mine in using it for any of my current projects.I needed solid 22AWG jumpers for my security alarm system but J.Tuffon posts below made me cautious, so I tested the wire as soon as I got it and it exceeded my expectations in terms of price, quality, and expedient delivery! I took the pictures to show how tinned wire can look like aluminum or oxidized zinc, depending on the lighting. One picture shows a very good solder joint before I cleaned the flux off. I measured the gauge with my calipers at 0.03-inch (22AWG=0.02540-inch) which is within my acceptable margin of error in measuring and allowance for some of the tinning. I also used my knife to scrape the tin off lead and you can tell there was in fact copper (well it looks like copper to me) underneath.I am not disputing anyone's observations. I am only stating what I experienced (over 50 years working with electronics) with my purchase. I checked it out because I have bought what looked like premium quality cables, but they had with no data line connects which I found quite appalling.

Great Hook-up Wire, No Compliants!
I've used this hook-up wire for several projects so far and I have not run into any problems. I like the way the box allows you to dispense and measure your wire with very little effort. I've used this for bread boarding and permanent projects and it appears to work well for almost all small electronic applications. Just keep in mind that this is solid and not stranded so it is not as flexible so if space is at a premium, you may have to get a little crafty!

If you're learning with Arduino on a solderless breadboard, these are the kind of wires to get.
Yep. They're solid core wires. Not a whole lot going on for them. Great for solderless breadboards. The multimeter says 0's across the board, so resistance is futile. They're great for little fun project-y things. I made a temperature sensor with a piezo buzzer on an Adafruit Trinket. A powerful little buzzer really. I programmed it to go off for two seconds once every 40 minutes below a certain temperature, and then threw it under my ex's bed. These wires helped make that possible.5/5, would buy again.

Not great for soldering.
Great wire for protoboards or where soldering is not required. The insulation on this wire is thin and melts easily. Soldering must be done very carefully to keep the insulation intact. If the wire bends near the solder joint the insulation will melt, pop off the wire and you will be left with bare wire. I have 50 years of soldering experience so, I don't think it's inexperience. Get silicone covered wire if you are going to solder it.

Solid Cu, tinned, solders nicely.
Did not know what to expect. Initially thought I got ripped off with aluminum wire but... it's all solid copper. Tinned. Solders very nicely and fast. Handy container. The insulation is somewhat resistant to the soldering iron. For 22 ga project wire... it's the bee's freakin knees.

What I wanted is what I got!
Excellent product! Everything is exactly as expected. I like the box it comes in as well as it is pretty easy to unroll a specific length of wire by just pulling. Occasionally the wire does bind up on the spool, but it's expected and a fairly quick fix get's you cutting and stripping wire in no time. I haven't had any problems with wire's having poorly bonded insulation, or discontinuities within the line so as said, it works just as expected!

Exactly what I needed
This is great, and pretty good quality. Stiff enough to hold it's shape and not flop all over everything, but flexible enough that you can work with short or long lengths on PCB or breadboard and it behaves well. It's pre-tinned (or at least mine is) and is super easy to solder to.

Good quality wire, handy package
Well, it's just wire. But it's good quality, good insulation, easy to use wire strippers with (the insulation comes off easily without shredding). The package is simple but really nice -- a cardboard box with holes for each color wire that makes it easy to pull out what you need. I'm using this for simple electronics projects, so I need about 6" at a time, so this will last me for quite a while.

Actual copper in a world where actual copper is rare
These may seem like "just your basic wire" but there's a reason these boxes are so popular in home labs/educational settings. Featuring a thick solid copper core (i've checked, it's real copper!) this #22 gauge wire is the perfect application for breadboard and home prototyping on pcb boards, it's already the right thickness to slot in a breadboard without any need to tin ahead - and thus also the right thickness to be easily soldered into protoboards. The box works great, the wires spooled adequately (might need adjustment sometimes) and it quickly is dispensable. The only downside is - these are PVC sheathed, so you can absolutely melt the wire's casing just by looking at it or if you're not quick with your soldering, but as it is hook-up wire it's not really meant for applications beyond prototyping as is.Elenco is a great company that provides a lot of educational and hobbyist products, they've been around longer than Amazon has been a thing and most of their products are actually well thought out (I still use one of their AC/DC bench power supply kits daily).A lot of their home lab products/kits are manufactured in the states, I can't guarantee that for these wires though - but they are quality no less.Stop shopping around for a cheaper price if you want hook-up wire for your breadboards. Buy Elenco, get quality and don't worry about it. (It's rare to have modern brands that make or source such quality goods consistently without cutting corners)

Excellent quality
I got this for breadboard prototyping and have been using it for many weeks now.The wire is perfect! Very easy to cut and strip, and the strands are strong enough to handle repeated insert/remove from the breadboard.Having the selection of colours available is great to separate the different sections of your circuit.Reccomended!

Tut was es soll!
