It was easy to install and save me several hundred dollars. I had it installed for over a month now and it works great. I changed out both the front and the rear Air cartridge.

These things did everything I had hoped, were super easy to install, and were very affordable. I was amazed that something so affordable and so easy to install would work so well.

On a 2011 Acura MDX, I was replacing the hood struts which were shot, and figured I’d do the hatch struts as well since they were feeling pretty weak in cold weather (but hadn’t actually failed to hold the hatch up yet).These replacements definitely did not feel as smooth at first, although that may be improving as they get broken in. However more importantly they don’t seem to provide as much lift force as even the original 11 year old struts, so I’m not that happy about that. They do hold the hatch open and the power lift still works fine, so I only notice the difference when manually opening the hatch. Time will tell if they hold up.

Excellent fix for rear hatch not opening all the way so that you keep bumping your head on it. Easy to install with only a small screwdriver required to remove the metal retaining clips on each end of the originals. Helpful hint, prop the rear hatch fully open with something sturdy before removing the old springs. Pop either end of the old springs loose, and the hatch will drop down faster than you can get out of the way, it's heavy and it hurts. so get a 2x4 or something and prop that thing up before removing the old struts.
