Is there any glitter in it of any sort?

No. No glitter at all. "Sparkle lites" is a marketing term (I believe) referring to the gloss level of the gel, if it is heavily applied. There is no gloss noticeable if you use the product sparingly.

Does it make the hair hard?

Depends on how much you use. The more you use the harder it will be when your hair sets. I like it because it doesn’t flake like other hair gels.

What does this smell like?

Very light citrus smell; it is pleasant and not strong.
