Interior Textiles: Fabrics, Application, and Historic Style

I bought this book as a supplement to the textbook being used in our classroom (Fabrics for Interiors). The primary text is loaded with full-color pictures but does not really explain the details of fabric choice and application the way Nielsen does in Interior Textiles. A full third of Nielson's book is dedicated to historical styles and how fabric contributed to them, which is not covered in our primary text at all. In addition, Wiley's web site has an area dedicated to additional companion resources. While it does not appear to be fully populated yet, I look forward to using the book and the site constantly through the remainder of my education and going forward into my career in interior design.[...]

This textbook is the best. It is very readable and can be easily understood. There is not any doubt that the author knows the subject at hand very well and presented it in a manner that is understandable, and makes the textbook enjoyable to read.

Needed this for my Textiles class in college. Arrived early (yay!) and did a lovely job of helping me pass the class(: fantastic condition and no complaints!

This was the textbook for one of my interior design classes, and it covered all the material well, with diagrams when helpful. It is very in-depth and you will definitely find what you need in this book. Overall though it was very dry, and although I expect that with textbooks, it made it hard to make myself do my reading! My professor even told us to make sure we didn't read it before bed or it would put us to sleep. :) Overall it isn't a bad book, though, and it has helpful information in it, just be warned that it is a lot of information and not written in an interesting manner.

text book for design class

I received my book in a very quick time frame. I found it in great condition, and had plenty of time before my class started. I would recommend the supplier and order again in the future for other needs.

I ordered Karla Nielson's book, Interior Textiles. The inside cover of the book is broken, and there are underlines and highlights throughout the text. I probably won't be ordering books anymore through Amazon.

This is a fabulous resource for both interior decorating/design courses as well as a future ongoing reference.

Covers the material, no pun intended, extensively and in detail. Covers conceptual material as well as practical considerations. A must have for budding and experienced interior designers.
