does not absorb water
These canvases state they are specialty formulated gesso for all water based paints, excellent water absorbency accepting all water media.Well I drew my drawings and masked out specific highlights for my watercolor painting. When masking was dry I mixed my watercolors and prepared to wash the background. MUCH TO MY DISSAPOINTMENT the water just beaded up on the canvas and did not soak in at all. There were no specific instructions to do anything different that normal watercolor painting. This is not acceptable and I wasted over half the canvases on this mess! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!

They are not super thick and they are not mounted to a board frame, but I used them to do a resin painting and they held up well.
