Incredible book for people of all ages!!
An incredible book for everyone - there is nothing better than getting to hear the voices and experiences from youth who have absorbed mindfulness and use the practices in REAL ways in their lives. There is an authenticity in the way this book was written and illustrated by students that serves as a beautiful model for how youth can use their voices to speak the possibilities of a new way to be on this planet through more awareness of the self and the world around them, and more compassion and love. I love the graphics because as a teacher I have shared the book with my students and they are so lit up when they can see themselves in the pictures and artwork. Such a useful, engaging, educational and fun story. A true kids book that ought to be read in all homes and classrooms!

Worth way more than its price..Actually priceless..
Really proved to be helpful. With the help of this booklet, I had a sit down with my grandson about slowing down, reflecting on issues and working them out. He understood what I was speaking about, after reading this book. Recently, he had a speech to deliver and he used this approach to calm down and delivered it expertly. He is now using it on a daily basis for many "things" that pop up in his 9 year old life.Great book.....helps with teaching a youngster how to begin coping, problem solving and introspection. It is really priceless.

Children helping children!! <3
Not for kids under... Well. I have a four year old that it's just too much for. But I love the concept and how it was presented. I am trying so hard to find mindfulness books that are more explanatory but not really wordy for my daughter. This book has a lot of words and is more geared toward 8-older: hence, 5th graders helped produce this wonderful book. However, my four year old did practice shark fin on her own que several times at the park right after reading this. I was shocked. We didn't get to the exercises but we will. Great book to start a movement in our culture :)

A little above his head but excellent for diversity and urban culture representation
Engaging for my 5 year old. A little above his head but excellent for diversity and urban culture representation. A plus for us country folks. He is already using the shark fin!

Great for kids 7+!
This book is fabulous. My son is 8 and this book is perfect - it is way too “wordy” for the younger crowd, but really great for his age range. I found so many books about feelings etc to be geared towards kids 3-6, and was looking for something he could relate to and didn’t feel “talked down to”.

Mindfulness
This is a quality children’s book with beautiful illustrations. The pictures are artistic and inviting. It has a feel like 'The Hungry Caterpillar' where you want to enjoy and savor every picture. A must have for every library. The Mindfulness message is so well delivered through the eyes of students and empowering for all ages. A treasure and must have for every classroom library. It also makes an amazing gift for kids, teachers, doctors, nurses, people facing serious health issues or stressful events and anyone else that believes in reaching towards their best self.Dr. Angela Haick, Retired Teacher and School Administrator

Tedious, wordy, and visually overwhelming
I wanted to love this book, but unfortunately it's not fun to read for several reasons. 1) It's visually overwhelming, there's a ton of writing on each page and it's difficult to read due to the background and the font that were chosen. 2) It's very wordy and spends the majority of the book giving examples of situations where mindfulness could be used. It takes so long to get to the point that it loses kids interest. The book needs to be much more concise. The other annoying thing is that the ink used in this book stinks. It's been over a week and it still gives off a toxic smell. The upside is that it has some good scripts in the back of the book that walk the reader through various meditations. I haven't tried it yet, but the book mentions that there are recordings of these scripts on-line and provides the link. Another benefit is that the book was written by kids and that makes it more relatable to children.

A Great Peer to Peer Book that most can gain from....
Bought this initially for a 10-year-old granddaughter, but was so impressed with the book I ordered several other copies for myself, for a middle school teacher & for a coworker with young grade school children. Text is easy to read and exercises are easy to apply & practice. Written by 5th graders makes this book more compelling & digestible to children in this age range. It also has appeal & learning potential for adults, as well. Enjoy the illustrations. Excellently executed project; highly recommend.
