Nice LED lamp but poor battery case design
First let me address the elephant in the room regarding the battery not fitting properly. I faced the same issue. After putting in the battery and thinking that it was seated properly it would fall out immediately. Later I realized that I had to push the battery towards the pins firmly. The battery doesn't provide any kind of clicking or snapping sound that would provide any haptic feedback that battery is seated properly. You have to put the battery in and then push it to the other side firmly. This coupled with the fact that the back is completely open makes this a very poor case design. However, I found that after pushing the battery in firmly for first couple of times it fits and stays into the holder easily.Other than this I found this LED panel to be very close to be as advertised. This comes with a charger and the lamp has a battery indicator LEDs as well. I liked the following things about this product1. The case of the LED lamp is not flimsy. Its firm but not very hard. You don't have to worry about the case getting crushed in the bag, but it's not going to withstand too much weight on it, so don't plan on sitting on it (unless you are a cat)2. The color filter gels are thicker than I had imagined earlier. They are quite durable and won't bend easily.3. The mounting bracket has a standard ball head so you can swivel and tilt the lamp in other direct for indirect illumination as well. The mounting bracket attaches to standard hot shoe which is present on most of the (D)SLRs. If you don't have such camera then there are adapters available for them as well which you would have to buy separately.4. The lamp has a brightness control as well. I was quite satisfied with the maximum brightness on the lamp.5. The mounting brackets has twisting screws that allows the ball head to be tightened into a position and other one tightens the mount into the hot shoe.Things you should be aware of before buying this1. Open back of the battery case could be a nuisance. You might want to put some kind of (cloth) cover on the back so that if the battery does fall out for some reason it doesn't hit something.2. The mounting bracket (that connects the camera to the LED lamp) mounts on standard hot shoe. I have a canon camera and it attached to it nicely. I assume it will attached to Nikon cameras as well. However, there are some cameras that use proprietary or other type of shoes mounts. you might have to buy separate adapters for these.3. This LED lamp does not work like a flashlight. This LED lamp has to be manually turned on and it will stay on until you turn it off. Though I love this feature because I can see how the object is illuminated.

Works great for product shots..
I take a lot of pictures indoors. With my Amazon reviews I like to include pictures because I know, for me at least, it can be really helpful to see pictures of a product from people other than in the product description.. so I take a lot of pictures of things before reviewing them. However, a lot of my pictures were just so dark that it wasn't doing the product justice. I needed to get some decent lighting without breaking the bank as I'm not yet ready to purchase a full lighting kit. I came across this and figured I'd give it a try.I have not been disappointed. When used correctly, with or without a diffuser or gels, this LED dimmable lamp has helped light up my photos immensely. The LED Lamp comes in a nice hard case that I can keep it in so it stays safe from breaking and is easily accessible when I need it. It comes with an attachment that I can slide into the hot shoe of my camera so I can have the LED lamp right on top of my camera. It also comes with a rechargeable battery, the charger for it and 4 gels in pink, yellow, blue and white. The white is more of a frosted clear than white.Aside from using the included rechargeable battery, this light can also use 6 AA batteries. There is a button on the back of the light you can press to check to battery level. Very helpful so you know if you're starting to run low on battery power. Also on the back is a knob that you use to turn the lights on and that is also used for dimming or brightening the lights. I love that I can choose just how much or how little light I want to use. That comes in handy with the different lighting environments I encounter. All in all I am very happy with this light. It's doing exactly what I need it for and will help hold me over until I can afford to get a good lighting kit.

HOW TO RESOLVE BATTERY FROM FALLING OUT! SIMPLE FIX!
****Battery Insert Issue******Read Here*****How To Easily Resolve*****I just received these lights that I intend to use for astrophotography.Despite the fact that many reviewers claimed the batteries wouldn't properly stay inserted.Due to their rechargeable batteries, the fact they comes with nice little cases, the filter gels etc.For the price I figured what the heck,I would check to see what the issue is,and if not able to resolve, then simply wrap an elastic hair band or a strip of Velcro around the unit to hold the battery in.No big deal right? So I got the nice little units (I ordered 2) and I went to insert the battery and like most reviewers I had the same issue.HOW TO RESOLVE BATTERY FROM FALLING OUT: Look how the battery and the side clips work, and you'll understand.Notice the slots in the sides of the battery? Notice the 4 corresponding plastic notches where these batteries slide into and lock down inside the light assembly? The problem is actually the battery itself and not the light! Inspect the battery slide notches carefully.See those locking tabs (the bottom part of the slide notches)? There are 4.Those slide into the locking tabs down inside the light housing. Now carefully inspect that these little catches here, along the slots, are not bent upward! If they are, then they will not allow the battery to slide down along the house lighting tabs to lock in! Instead it will tip up the back of the battery and not lock! This is very easily resolved by simply using a large flat head screw driver, and bending these locking tabs on the battery, downward just so they are nice and straight. Now insert the battery and follow the instructions,in that you insert it and then slide it forward, towards to two metal pins until those metal pins are fully inserted into the battery. When correct, the battery will slide forward completely flush and level,at no angle. If it doesn't then you still have a tab along the battery keeping it from sliding forward.TIP: The front locks are probably not even required,as the metal pins would hold the front,so if you have to brake those right off,go ahead. The back slide locks and the front pins would more than hold the battery I'm sure. However if your careful, you'll have no problem banding these slide locks so the battery can slide forward and lock. Now you'll notice that you can try and try but you'll NEVER be able to remove the battery without very, very firmly, sliding it back out to unlock and you'll see now that there's no way the battery can ever fall out after you performed this simply little tweak to slide locks on your battery.Your welcome!:)The light kit seams like a super bargain at the price! Can't wait to give them a try as low level lighting for my nightscapes!
