Historical and Chronological Context of the Bible

The author gives good historical information of events surrounding Bible history.Unfortunately his Bible interpretation is wrong.Jesus said he would be back a second time around the time when Israel was reborn which was 70 years ago. The book of Revelation is all about events which would take place over a 7 year period in heaven above and on earth. This period most likely is about to start. Before this starts saints will be taken up to heaven above by God.At the end of this the devil goes to hell and Jesus/God literally rules on earth for 1000 years.Mainstream churches deny Jesus is coming back a second time. Jesus said there would be many false prophets and people would be oblivious to these great events which is exactly what we witness now.For flat earth evidence see Edward Hendrie. I'd been watching Bruce Gores lectures on Youtube, loved his material and bought the book. Though not religious myself I had loved the way he put the bible into a historical context. However, the book is much more than that. Though still less than half way through it gives a well researched and detailed history of the peoples and empires of the near and middle east. All quite fascinating. I look forward to the rest of the book. My only complaint is the quality of the photo plates and there are a few typo's. A very worthwhile buy and a book that I will come back to many times.

This book can be found in no other place thus the information details and breadth of history is staggering and at a incredible price for what you get. If you want to know who where the Hittites? Or other ethnic groups some that may not even exist today then this is the place. You can also find the times, dates of bible characters, great descriptions of the kingdoms of Babylonians, Medes, Persians, Romans, Egyptians etc and all in their historical context of the bible. Amazing book thank you Bruce.

This was a great find along with many, many lectures on the Internet. You don't have to buy this book, but I would highly recommend you do. It is packed with facts. Bruce Gore freely records all of his lectures, for anybody to follow. I original got it as I wanted to read up on Israel and its history of patriarch, kings etc, as I am travelling there. It IS vast, brilliant and worth every penny.

Bruce Gore writes a fantastic in-depth book taking you through history and showing where history walks out of the pages of the bible and scripture. A great read for those wishing to reconcile history and faith.
